Orlando, Florida honeymoon

We are planning on going to Orlando for our honeymoon. We are going end of September, beginning of October. We are looking at visiting Universal and the Kennedy Space Center. Does anyone have any tips for on buying tickets, navigating the parks, etc. Also if there are any other things we should see, something that is not typically a tourist thing. Or any good local restaurants? Thanks!

Re: Orlando, Florida honeymoon

  • We were in Orlando in December before and after our cruise.  I found great deals on things to do on Groupon and Living Social.  We loved the Titanic Exhibit and Ripleys Believe it or not was fun as well.  Both sites have a ton of things to do that aren't theme parks.
  • End of September/early October will be a good time for the theme parks. Kids will be back in school at that point so the crowds aren't quite as huge as in the summer. But the parks are basically busy year-round so my advice is be there when the gates open. That way you can hit up all of the "big" rides you want to do before the lines become 60+ minutes long. Plan ahead so you know which rides are important and map out your route. Bring in an empty water bottle so you can fill it up at a water fountain and not pay crazy theme park prices. Also - sunscreen!!

    Have fun!

  • October is Epcot's food and wine fest. Don't miss it. Downtown Orlando is great, very walkable, awesome bar scene with everything from clubs to speakeasy style places with craft cocktails. If you are going to KSC check out Merritt Island National Wildlfie refuge an Cape Canaveral National Seashore. You also might be able to get on a tour to see nesting sea turtles.
