Sneaking Harry Potter in

So I'm sure many have seen the Harry Potter inspired weddings out there...they all look like a 10 year old boy's birthday party. Any ideas or any brides who incorporated Harry Potter in a cute, classy way? We're thinking our favors will be golden snitch and flying key ornaments hanging as decor until they collect them to go home, any other suggestions?

    One thing I have been toying with is doing paper flowers from book pages. Before ripping me to shreds about the blasphemy of taking apart a HP book, I have a copy of GOF that is in about 50 pieces from reading it so much.

    I've seen the flying keys for Sorcerer's Stone as placecard holders.

    We are doing wands and Bertie Bots Every Flavor Beans as favors at our kiddie table.

    You can make your wedding colors your favorite house. BM dress like hermiones from the movie (Yule ball), incorporate quotes into your vows, if writing your own, there are some fantastic ones, old brass keys as escort cards, have a signature drink called butter beer or pumpkin juice depending on which flavor you prefer, Bernie bots or chocolate frogs as a favor.

    I wouldn't use all of them together though or it will look like a kids party. Have fun!

    thank you! i thought of a signature harry potter cocktail or something, thanks for confirming! didn't think of the quote in the vows though! love it!

    I often lurk at this site,and once they had a HP themed wedding.
    It isn't too much,but someone can get hints.
    I loved the idea with tall candles as centerpieces.

    Everyone I've ever met is sending me HarryPotter bridal inspiration, and you're right, the good stuff is really good, but the bad stuff is really bad. 

    I've seen on Pinterest suggestions that you dress up your bridesmaids in the house colors. Since they're jewel tones this could be a classy way to give a nod to the books, but the jury's out on what to do if you have more than four bridesmaids . . .

    I'm doing book-page roses and giving my bridesmaids these necklaces to wear: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/necklaces/blast-from-the-post-necklace The groomsmen are the "Fellowship of the Ring," so my bridesmaids are "The Order of the Phoenix," but that's more of an inside joke than something we're going to advertise. USPS also makes Harry Potter stamps!

    @princessgracekelly that's what i'm thinking! i'd rather it be something harry potter fans notice not a statement of "this is a harry potter thing." love the necklace idea for sure!

    Love all the ideas posted above. I'm planning on throwing some Harry Potter music into the ceremony for when me and FH walk back up the aisle together. Then the people that know Harry Potter will get it but if they don't then they will just think it's pretty music.

    You can name your tables after HP-themed places or words, even spells! :) I'm a big Firefly fan and my tables are named after planets in the Firefly universe. I would do HP but FH isn't a fan so we picked something we are both obsessed with.
