My Monday totally turned around

While shopping with my FI tonight I dropped my phone. freaking out thinking i broke my phone screen. FML right? well turns out I remembered being upsold on a tempered glass screen protector and its covered under a life time warranty and others have broken their screen protectors too and it looked like the screen broke but it was only the protector. FI doesnt believe me but my day just got so much better. hope its a sign for the rest of my week.

Re: My Monday totally turned around

  • Wow! That's great news.

You know what I wish would happen to make my day better? That you would take care of your dog properly.

actually took her out and what not this weekend. did figure out the issue somewhat. FMIL has let her out before leaving but she gets distracted while outside. FI makes sure she goes before she comes back in and pesters her until she goes and his mom does not do this.

We do take care of her properly we have over the years and still do. huskies are a stubburn bred but she has gotten better.

  • Always a relief when the screen protector saves your phone screen! So you'll get a new screen protector for free due to warranty?

  • Mine totally turned around too.

I was having a really good day until my mom called; the family dog's cancer has spread to her bones. Her shoulder is dangerously thin, and she'll have to be carried around the stairs and on the bed to try to prevent her from breaking it. If she does, they'll have to put her down. She's too old to amputate, so they just have to let the cancer slowly spread to her lungs and kill her. She's got a few months.
i am so sorry, its hard but better for them to go naturally. when my childhood dog passed away 4 yrs ago we did not want to have to put him down. my dad couldnt do it and none of us women could. sadly he passed peacefully halloween of 2010.

You couldn't have taken your dog to the vet to have him euthanized?

Why is it better for them to go naturally? Because it was too hard for you?

You really should not have animals. You have proven several times that you would rather let your animal suffer than fucking take care of them like a responsible person.
My thoughts exactly. WUT. It's better for an animal to suffer because it's tooooooo hard?

I mean my dad has taken some of our suffering animals out to the back to shoot them and put them down, but never pets. It costs maybe 40 bucks to do it at the vet. I took my cat in a few years ago. If you don't have the money for that you don't need animals.

And yeah, the shooting is horrible. My dad is an old rural northern man.

I differ on the cost.  Last March we had to put down one of our dogs because her kidneys shut down.  They charged my dad $200 just to euthanize her, that doesn't factor in all the other things they did to try to save her.  Another $100 to have her cremated and the ashes given back to us.

Yeah, I suppose costs vary with the circumstances.

Still, if you aren't prepared to care for your animals properly they need to be taken away.

Goodness, I don't even think terminal cancer patient HUMANS should be forced to suffer through a natural death if they don't want to... let alone a dog.

I firmly believe in "the look." Every one of our past dogs has given "the look" that says "I'm done; don't make me do this anymore." And we have honored that. No sooner, no later.
You are my people, Lolo. If you havent watched "How to Die in Oregon" (Documentary), I highly recommend it. It's on Netflix.
  • My parent's last dog had pancreatitis, which caused progressively worsening seizures which they were managing with medication - until Bosley went into a seizure and didn't come out until they rushed him to the vet and had him put down.

That would have been a shitty natural death, if you ask me.

I've seen the look. The first dog I ever had i got in fourth grade. By the end of my senior year he couldn't stand up on his own if one of u carry him outside and hold him up to pee he peed on himself.

He was still the same happy dog for awhile so we couldn't bring ourselves to bring him in to be put down. Finally one day my little brother came in crying and said we needed to go. We all took one look at Sasha and knew it was time.

A 12 year old who was this dogs best friend was capable of seeing he was hurting too much to make him suffer.

  • My Casey, a golden retriever I had growing up got cancer. She was such a fun loving dog whose favorite thing was her tennis ball. The day she wouldn't even wag her tail at the word "ball", is when we knew. Some clinic will euthanize for a small donation. Not all. But some. It's good to ask around for what emergency services are in your area in case you need them.
