Where to buy bridesmaid dresses

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of any good chain bridesmaid stores? I'm looking at David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo, but just looking for more options just in case. My BM's and I are throughout the midwest, so it would be hard to get everyone to one location.

  • if you're open to browsing online, you and your BM's can join Weddington Way and collaborate on a showroom. The site contains designers such as Alfred Angelo, Alfred Sung, After Six, etc.. So even if you don't feel comfortable ordering online, maybe you could go to a salon and ask for dresses from the specific designer that you find on Weddington Way.
  • Department stores like Macy's have bridal salons where you can find bridesmaid dresses (plus, you can go outside the BM dress lines and choose a "regular" dress). Target also has bridesmaid dresses.

  • as @AJh1021 said, I would definitely recommend Weddington Way. There are a lot of different dresses to browse, and that is how I decided what I wanted. I actually picked out the designer (Alfred Sung) color & length of dress, not just a specific dress (there were 53 options to choose from within what I wanted) This way everyone was able to pick out the exact dress/price they wanted. I was able to add all of my girls to my showroom so that they could see all the dresses and add ones they liked in. Once they had an idea of what they were interested in we called local salons & they were able to try dresses on (they did have to go to a few different places to find all of the styles.)  None of them really felt comfortable ordering them online so they found the place with the best price & ordered from the store.
  • I'd heard of Weddington Way, but I guess wasn't sure what it was. Super helpful, thanks ladies!

  • Be careful with Weddington Way.

A few of my BMs ordered dresses there and even though they followed their sizing instructions, their dresses were waaaaay too big and needed major alterations.

  • @PrettyGirlLost I had heard those things too, thats why my girls ordered the dresses from a local salon. We mostly used the site to find the dresses, and for them to be able to share with me/each other the styles they liked

    that's exactly what we did!
  • I looked at DB and Alfred Angelo for my girls. Alfred Angelo was in the $195 range for a lot of dresses, which I felt was too high. Also there were only a few "samples" of each dress in like a size 2 or 26 but not anything or much inbetween. I found DB had more options, a better price range and more samples and do alterations there which was a plus. My MOH has been in so many weddings she's like the girl in 27 dresses and many of those weddings the bridesmaids were from all over the country and used DB.

You can also try Dessy, JCrew or Ann Taylor depending on your price range. It also depends on whether or not you want them to try things on or just order more blindly.

  • Renz Rags on Etsy is great! I got my bridesmaid dress from there for a wedding. I was so impressed my bridesmaids are getting one from there too.

Uh, you should probably change your screenname to something that isn't your real name. These are public forums. Internet safety and all.
  • I got mine at Macy's.  I highly advocate at least looking for a dress that's carried in a national retail chain over something like DB.  My BMs dresses (on sale) were less than any DB dress and MUCH higher quality.  Plus there is a much higher chance of them being worn again.

Heck, even Nordstrom has some in the $100-$150 range (which I assume your BMs budget is at least $100 if you're considering DB) AND they keep their inventory online so you can see if stores near your BMs have a certain dress available to try on in their size.
