Shower invitation wording

I need some advice. I'm hosting a bridal shower at my home, and I'm unsure of how to state the location on the invitation (I'm ordering printed invites as opposed to the write-in style). Should I put "Hosted by [me]" or "At the home of [me]"? I'm worried about sounding ostentatious. Any advice is appreciated!

Re: Shower invitation wording

  • Just making sure, but you aren't the bride are you?

And here is some wording that could work...

    Please join us for
    a bridal shower honoring

    Brides Name

    Date
    at the home of Craftysgirl
    Address

    Please RSVP by Date
    to Craftysgirl at email address
    or phone number

    Brides Name is registered
    at X and Y

  • As I said in the etiquette board, if this shower is in your honor, you should not be hosting it.  You should never host an event for yourself so others will shower you with gits.
  • No, it's my sister's :) (I know that's a iffy subject about family members hosting, but I'm the sole attendant)
  • I think it is fine that you are hosting your sisters shower (I hosted one for my sister).  I think some people have an issue when it is the MOB who hosts a shower for her daughter, but even that isn't a rule that is followed much anymore.
