How can I light my reception tent?!? There are no outlets and I have NO CLUE!

We are having a very small tent reception on the beach. There are only 10 people plus my FI and me attending so it will be very small. We are having the ceremony at sunset and would like the reception to follow. Any ideas of how to light my tent? Im scared candles would be too unreliable and it gets really dark out there!! Thanks so much!

  • we used a generator.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • For something that small...tiki torches and battery-powered LEDs?  I'll see if I can track the ones I'm thinking of down.

I was thinking something like this- but I want to be able to see for sure!! How many do you think??

What about hurricane glasses with candles?

  • I finally googled it-littlebrightlights.com should give you some ideas, from candles to string lights to fiberoptics.  None of it's really expensive, and you can always google "battery led lights" to get some other companies.  HTH!

And hurricane glass with candles would be awesome!  I would still add some perimeter lighting though-kind of like a beacon if anyone wanders off lol.  I would do at least 3 candles on each table (the LEDS mimic natural pretty closely) and maybe some rope lights around the roof of the tent-that should be plenty for people to see.  Tiki torches add to the ambience.
  • Extention cords? That run to a nearby building?

battery operated laterns hung from the top pf the tent and outside the tent torches. Google battery Operated Lights a ton come up.

  • FI bought a mess of solar powered christmas lights from home depot. Not sure if theyd sill have them, maybe online? But you could always try those! Just make sure theyre set up for the better half of the day.
