I have the best DH ever!

I've been working since 7 AM (it's 11:15 here) and it looks like I have another hour of work tonight. DH just got back from his night class and brought me a chocolate milkshake. While not supportive of my desire to eat healthier, it feels like the best gift in the world.

Can you top that? ;)

  • FI is working on the other side of the country right now so we haven't seen as much of each other as we'd like the past few months. Two days ago I came home to a beautiful bouquet of white roses and lilies (my favorite) and a sweet card. It's the little things :)

He doesn't make me feel like the gigantic spoiled brat that he turned me into.

We went to get our wedding bands custom made, and one of the things our jeweler does is engrave for free. He also does fingerprints. The jeweler said usually it's your spouse's initials or the wedding date or both. I asked him if he was getting his ring engraved before we met the jeweler and he said no. I was actually really hurt, and I still don't know why. I tried not to show it but he can read me like a book. He asked me why it meant so much to have my initials on his ring, and I have no idea. It's a really, really stupid thing to be upset over. Anyway, I told him it hurt my feelings and I don't know why, but since it's his ring I'm just going to get over it. It's not my ring, and it's not a big deal. Just let me be moody for 20 minutes.

So I got over it and accepted he wasn't going to do it. Later, the jeweler asked him if he wanted to engrave his ring, and he said yes!!! He wants my initials. I asked him if he was sure, and please don't let me influence your decision. He looked really happy, probably to see my happy reaction.

He really is way out of my league. He's too good for me, but I won't tell him that.

EDIT: The reason he didn't want to engrave it is because he "liked the idea of the ring being perfectly smooth on the inside". Since that was like the dumbest reason ever, I didn't get it and thus hurt feelings. Also, my rings are itty bitty but you can bet that if they were wide enough for engraving I would have all his info right in there.

  • Aww! That's so sweet!

I walked into the bathroom this morning to get ready for work, and FI had taken my curling iron out, placed it exactly where I put it when I'm using it, plugged it in, and turned it on so it could heat up. Such a random thing, but as soon as I saw it I just thought "Aaaw!"

  • my FI last year during one of my bad cramps actually cuddled me, like legit cuddled me. when he buys me things that are pink just because he knows i will love it. he bought me all our christmas stuff even though we never got to put the tree up (house not done) and put lights up outside.

remember its the little things that count. i could go on forever about the things he has done but i wont

  • That's awesome, milkshakes are great!

I really wanted to wear a necklace with my wedding dress, but I'd been dissuaded from it, so I stopped looking.

FI, being super amazing, found and got me a Kate Spade "mrs" necklace as a wedding gift to wear during the reception because I'm not a "mrs" until then. I love him.

  • Whenever my FI goes home for lunch, he sends me selfies with the cats. I will choose cat selfies over chocolate or flowers any day :)

  • FI surprised me today with a box of fruit roll ups. We stuck in the house due to the storm and I was complaining that I wished I had something for dessert. He pulled out the box. He knows me so well.

DH knew he was going in to work early today and that he'd have to get up at 3:30am.  He also knows I'm a light sleeper and that typically if he gets up early I can't go back to sleep and get up too.  Normally it's not a problem because we get up at the same time or I get up before him and he sleeps like a rock.  Last night he offered to sleep in the guest room as to let me sleep in the morning and not wake me.  Sweet gesture, but I turned him down because I like cuddles much more :)
  • DH made me bacon this morning for breakfast!

Also, rarely a day goes by that I don't get some sort of "I love you" or kissy-emoticon text from him during the work day.  We've been together 6 years and he still does it every day.

  • SO came home the other day and said, "I got you something better than flowers!"  Then he gave me a water bottle.  I'm not really a fan of flowers and I've been complaining about how I keep forgetting a water bottle for the gym so it was sweet of him to get me one.

J makes up silly little songs to sing to me.  They're hilarious and cheesy and adorable, and make me smile so much.

    Sample lyrics:
You aaaaare my wifey and I love you
You aaaaare so precious and I love you
You aaaaare so wonderful I love you
I looooove you alllll the tiiiiime.

ETA: we have very different cooking styles - I'm neat and clean as I go.  J has an explosion in the kitchen every time he cooks.  Honestly, if he can't figure out what a dish is for, he'll make up a use just so he can dirty it.  The other day when I came home for supper after work, not only was supper just about done, but the kitchen was spotless.  He got the good lovin' for that.

my FI will put his own words to songs and they drive me crazy but always manages to make me laugh. so i guess that is a plus.
