I'm not for kneejerk responses, but clearly his medical training has failed him and he should be treating NO ONE. IF you're going to go on TV with clearly insane opinions, you should no longer have a medical license. No due process, just take the damn thing.

Yeah, I want to punch that fuckface so hard. He's a cardiologist. So what the hell does he do when he has people who need statins or a bypass? Tell them to go vegan and stay pure? I love that he blamed vaccines on the girl's lymphoma. He is failing so hard at science and medicine right now.

Also, I really feel like there's some coded language going on here. B/c the only people I ever heard calling their kids "pure" usually are white supremacists.

I have no clue what a paleo-cardiologist is. I bet he makes good money though from gullible people who have the money to drop on this because I guarantee he doesn't take insurance.

I mean, yes in the healthcare profession you realize some people will die, but you do your damnedest to prevent it from happneing.

Just remember there are an equal number as many left-wing and right-wing freaks about this issue, does it really matter which one this guy is on?!??

The worst is that the people at both ends of the spectrum do a dis-service to those of us who are pro-vaccination but can't for a number of medical reasons be vaccinated ourselves because of reactions to something in the vaccines.

It's really hard for me to understand the anti-vaccination set. I sorta just want to drop them off in a 3rd world country so they can see the diseases that we've all but eradicated in action. There's a reason that these countries populations beg for these vaccines.

My grandmother talks about how when there was a measles case, they'd shut school down (granted it wasn't schools like we have now) when she was a kid b/c it was so contagious. She nearly died from the measles and when she didn't, her parents were terrified of brain damage.

The problem with the anti-vax crowd that is cropping up now is that these aren't stupid people. These people are well educated, think engineers, scientists, etc. who are making these choices. They are also people with financial resources. That means that they have access to information and they have some basic knowledge on how to read it. The problem is that they can't interpret what they read. Every vaccine has a side effect profile. There is no drug in the world that doesn't. But the issue is what side effects are truly related to a drug/vaccine. In a study, everything must be reported. So there was an issue where people were saying girls were dying after getting Gardasil and its even in the package insert, so see it's horrible! Well, they took into account every death. Motor vehicle accidents, homicides, suicides, etc. Things that are clearly not related to the shot. The same goes for every drug and shot out there.

The other issue is that they look at the vaccine court. To date, no one has successfully argued that autism is caused by a vaccine. They can bring the case to them, but it doesn't matter because the court has said no. But there have been payouts, and the court will payout on the costs associated with filing and some lawyers fees for people who don't even have evidence to pursue a case.

And everyone wants to keep kids safe, no doubt about it. So when you are hypervigilant, and you have the resources to ensure your kids are safe, you do everything in our power to be aware of the things that can hurt them. But that leads to bad science and poor decision making at times. In this instance, kids are in the crosshairs and you have to be critical of these decisions because they aren't in the best interest.

My friends mother had polio 1 year prior to the vaccine coming out. She's been crippled the majority of her life because of that disease.

And like Pmeg said, EVERY death or health happening during the course of a drug trial is taken into account. Someone got a headache from being knocked in the head with a bat? Still has to go on the side effects list.

I really don't have a problem with people asking questions about what's in vaccines. BUT, and it's a big one, they need to have someone explain that stuff to them. Less you end up like Food Babe, bitching about stabilizers b/c OMG they're in yoga mats.

yes...they're stabilizers! YOU'RE NOT EATING A YOGA MAT.

Oh and NVM about the 11-12K that were in hospitals from serious problems from chicken pox. It's b/c they weren't pure. PURE OR DIE.

To be honest, I do care about my next cocktail. It is important.

I eyeroll so hard at this guy. I know the area where he lives and there are plenty of people around there like that. So surround yourself with someone different ffs. And anger increases your likelihood of a heart attack...maybe he should stop being so inflammatory.
