Well this is a disappointment. I'm trying to avoid studying pharmacology and was hoping for something entertaining.

@ohannabelle I don't know what I love more, that the bride's name was "Dimple's McPhee," the outfits, or that she spent £1200 on a Cinderella cake.

ETA: I am genuinely sad that she was hurt, because no one deserves that. I also was sad to read that she was terrified her groom would leave her because "no one wants a woman with scars."

Me too. She was one of my good friends when I was living in England. She was Indian/Sri Lankan/something similar background (born in England). I never asked.

Guys, her name isn't Dimples. Later in the article her states her real name, which is Anne.

No, the bride says in a comment that they announced her full name and it ruined her wedding day even more, because she has her aunt's name as one of her middle names. First name is Anne. Dimples is just a nickname.

Thanks for the clarification. I mostly just skimmed it but one thing stood out. She checked herself out of the hospital fearful that her FI would leave her. So she married him. That made me so sad. Well, sadder since the story is pretty sad.

But I've heard that getting married in your late teens is a MUST in that culture, so I'm sure she was terrified of losing out on her chance to be married, which like you said, just makes it even sadder.

She was also only 17. Now she is 18 and "finally pregnant." They thought it would "never happen." Dude, you're a teenager and it's been a year. Calm yourself.

Not to mention the 17 year old bride's mom was 33. . . . I am almost 32, I cannot fathom having a daughter old enough to get married right now. The whole gypsy culture fascinates me.
