Thompson island

my daughter is getting married there next summer. She is trying to decide whether to bring in outside catering. If you have been to a function how was the food?

She is particularly concerned about a buffet for 200. How did that work? Finally any pictures of food or set up?

Hi,  My daughter got married there last summer (7/31/10).  The food was fabulous!!  We had the clambake and the lobsters were very full and delicious.  I wouldn't bring in a caterer, I can tell you that they have it down to a science and honestly, the food was amazing.  I cannot say enough good things about the chef and his staff. I'm sure you will be pleased with the quality of the food.  People are still talking about how good the chicken was:-).  My husband was really concerned about the buffet for so many people.  We had 200 and the buffet went so smoothly,  I'm not kidding, there was no wait at all.   I have posted a couple of

pictures, but PM me if you want to talk and I will give you my phone number.

Dear dparisi, There seems to be a problem with the pm system: it appears it is not compatible with my iPad. I would however love to chat. Why don't you email me at mom.marshallra at aol dot com and we can exchange numbers? Looking forward to hearing about your experience!

Hello there, I may be a bit late for this conversation but I would love to hear any advice about weddings on Thompson Island you ladies have to offer.

    Thank you!

I am also curious, I did not realize they did weddings on the harbor islands! I love the idea of a slightly more casual but still unique and pretty wedding.
It seems like it is more of a total DIY though, did you find that? Did you end up bringing in decor & rentals? If so, if you dont mind me asking what the ballpark cost came too?

    Hey Tabbie -
I am currently planning a wedding on thompson island. I love not having to search for vendors because everything is there and any decor is mostly DIY. They are really nice and fairly flexible. In the end rentals seem to be too costly, I think we are going to opt for bamboo plates rather than renting china because the 15 per person charge for dishware rentals tacks on a large amount! Happy to chat more if you have questions.
    Cheers,
    erica
