Trying to find my dream dress for re-sale! Justin Alexander 8737

Hi all!

I am trying to find my dream dress or something similar to it. I tried this style on at the store and I loved the low back, the beading on the top, and the fit & flare/trumpet shape. I have searched every where online for it but no one is reselling it (I assume because it is a spring 2015 style). Do you think I will have any luck finding it for resale online? Or is there a different dress by a different designer that would be similar? Any suggestions on dresses would be great! Thank you!!

I am sorry I cannot help with your search for this dress or a similar style. I just wanted to insert one comment. I strongly recommend not buying something you cannot try on. Every dress is different and of the ones I tried on each fit a little different, even those that were the same style. (ie. Fit and flare, mermaid, a line etc). Plus pictures are great resources but there is no replacing seeing it in real life. The dress I picked looks terrible in their promotional pictures so I am sure the opposite is true as well.

is it the cost you are concerned about like its out of your price point.?

I think it's too early for a resale. I'd try hitting up some boutiques near you that have one in a size close to yours, and offering to buy the sample. Often boutiques will part with samples if you offer, rather than having to go to the trouble of advertising them later. I'd recommend calling every Justin Alexander stockist in your area and seeing. Sure, it'll eat up some time, but you might be able to snag a bargain. Make sure you look at a dress before agreeing to buy it though. Some samples I've seen have been very beat up.

What's your timeline? You can put an alert up on preownedweddingdresses.com, but I'm not sure about the other websites.

Also, budget is a big factor. A second hand dress will most likely be cheaper than a sample, but you'll have a harder time finding one located close to you.

Maggie Sottero and Allure both have dresses very similar to that. I almost bought the Maggie Sottero one, and it was $1,100 (not bad considering some dress prices these days) plus it's from last season, so you might have better luck finding it for resale. It was called the Sawyer.

@missdelilah thank you for the tips! The wedding is November 1st so I have some time. I put an alert on preownedweddingdresses and oncewed. I didn't think about calling boutiques but that's a great idea! My budget is about $1000 so if I can find the dress for around that price that would be amazing!

Congrats on your wedding! The dress is amazing so I'm sure you'll look wonderful in it!

@hyechica81 yes, unfortunately the dress is outside of my budget. my budget is around $1000 so I can't afford $2000 for a dress.

Thank you for your suggestions! I am looking for a dress that has a low back and is lace...also the neckline I would like to be similar. Any more suggestions would be amazing! Thank you for your help!

kaitlynjanelle13 You're very welcome. The alternative is to find a store that only sells off the rack (usually samples but a few over stock dresses) and see if they have anything similar. You probably won't find that particular dress in a place like that, but you can certainly find something within your price range. Are you dead set on the low back? I know that Maggie Sottero does a lot of lace with keyhole backs that would fall well within your price range for a new dress.

@missdelilah - awesome suggestions. I have looked at so many dresses but I never stumbled across these on my own. Thank you for your help! I am going to see what boutiques in the area carry these dresses and see if I can try some of them on!
