Winter Wedding Venues

Looking in NJ for a pretty winter wedding venue (jan/feb/march 2016)--right now on my list I have Florentine Gardens, Addison Park, Crystal Plaza, and Seasons. If anyone has any information (specifically pricing!) or how the venue looked in the winter it would be much appreciated! I know some venues are better for certain seasons so wanted to get some input.

thank you!

Re: Winter Wedding Venues

  • You should also look at The Palace in Somerset.  I have been there for a winter wedding and its beautiful.
  • We chose the Continental Room at the Westmount. The dance floor overlooks this valley that looks pretty amazing in the winter.
  • Florentine Gardens is a gorgeous winter venue!
  • Thank you everyone! My friend is getting married at Palace so that one's out :(. Westmount is also on my list--ctr24 what month did you get married there?

soontobesyp are you getting married at Florentine?
  • hi, what is your budget? and what are you looking for? modern? rustic?
  • I have been to a wedding at xmas time at Florentine garden and it was amazing with all the lights.

The most important question.....what is your budget, per person, with tax and service charges?

And just because a friend got married at a venue doesn't make it off limits.  I'd be flattered if someone chose our venue.  I would LOVE to go back and enjoy it as a guest.

ETA - Most venues don't want to waste their time if you can't afford them, so they often will give pricing info over the phone.  When I was looking, I created a simple spreadsheet with venue name, phone number, a couple columns with different days/times I wanted quotes for, columns for notes about minimum people for those days/time and a comments column.  Then I called and filled in with the prices and minimums.  I was able to get most of the info relatively quickly.
  • We're getting married in 5 weeks but were at the WCC for a meeting this past weekend and they were setting up. They have this really cool modern fireplace by the entrance that I really like. It's a small detail but I thought it was a nice touch for a winter wedding.
  • I've called a couple places and they've only given me wide ranges--usually $100-$150 (which is in our budget). Some places keep telling me I need to come in. Just curious to see what an actual quote was.
  • futuremrss0130  I am not getting married at Florentine, but I've been there many times (I part-time DOC) and I LOVE it there.  The color of the room (that dark blue/purple) and the huge crystal chandeliers just lend themselves so well to a winter wedding.

And the outside patio is usually a lit up with white lights- so even though it will be too cold to go out, it's gorgeous to see out the windows.

    Good luck- and have fun!
  • I've spoken with Anthony at Addison Park and he seemed slimy right off the bat. He kept insisting I visit before giving me pricing. Finally, after a long explanation that I've already been to a wedding there myself and I'm not going to waste anyone's time with a tour if it is out of my budget, he agreed to give me "vague" pricing for a Saturday evening in April/May 2016 which was $195 - $215 all-in with a minimum headcount of 150. He was very condescending in our 5 minute conversation, especially when I asked if he would lower the headcount at all. I've contacted over 20 venues and this is the only one so far that I would downright not have my wedding there due to the one manager (I couldn't imagine dealing with him for 14 months!) On a side note, the wedding I went to at AP was in December a few years back - the outside was nothing to remember in the winter but inside was fully decorated with white Christmas trees and decor - not sure how long they keep them up for - but it WAS beautiful, especially the ballroom.
  • @jerseykisses - I am having my wedding at Addison Park in September. My manager is Ed, not Anthony, and he has been absolutely wonderful to work with. Though I suppose it is luck of the draw, you can request Ed instead of Anthony and keep them on your list. I have pricing for a Friday in September, if anyone is interested.
  • In my search, I found the more expensive places don't give pricing over the phone so that you come in, fall in love, and are now willing to pay whatever it is. Westmount, Addison and The Grove wouldnt give me pricing over the phone.

I've got 2015 Westmount winter pricing if you want
  • did you check out nanina's? that's we;re i'm getting married :) they have beautiful outdoor lights
  • @ctr24 I am going to the westmount tomorrow for a second look. I am planning a 2016 winter wedding, do you mind sharing the 2015 winter pricing ?
  • When I was doing my search, Addison Park gave me pricing over the phone.  That's strange.

  • I will be having my wedding at the Crystal Plaza in the winter. Pricing there is between $120-$175 depending on the day of the week and if you do a holiday. Holidays are more money because they have to pay the staff more.
  • Definitely check Westmount Country Club. They have amazing winter pricing. I actually considered changing my wedding date because of it. It's within your budget that you stated.
  • Thanks everyone for the responses--we ended up booking with Seasons!
  • I am having a winter wedding 2/19/16 at The Palace.  We are actually have a Friday night wedding because I would prefer to have the rest of the weekend to spend with our families before everyone heads home.  They gave unbelievably reasonable pricing and I was shocked.
