gift registry

My FH and I are getting married out of the country and are only inviting guests to a dinner reception party once we are back home. We are hosting at a nice restaurant, having a cake, power poin with all our Wdding ceremony pictures etc. is it alright to have a registry for an event like this or is it bad etiquette?

Re: gift registry

  • It's considered bad etiquette to have a registry when the guests did not attend the wedding. However, you can set up a registry (esp for the completion discount) and have it sitting out there. Just do not tell anyone about it, even if they ask. If someone wants to bring a gift, they will most likely find the registry on their own.
