I'm putting the final touches on our invitation list and I have a few questions that I could not find clarified on Crane's website.
For an unmarried couple not living together, are you supposed to send separate invitations, or an invitation to the person close to you? For example, my friend Jimmy is dating Mary, who we've never met. Would the invitation suite look like this? :
Outer:
Mr. James Joyce
123 Caulder Street
Avalon, New Jersey, 12345
Inner:
Mr. Joyce
Ms. Lemming
or should her name be listed first on the inner envelope?
Crane's also mentions that for a "junior," the outer envelope would look like this:
Mr. James Joyce, junior
123 Caulder Street
Avalon, New Jersey, 12345
Crane's then says to abbreviate the suffix in the inner envelope like so:
Mr. Joyce, Jr.
Is this correct?
Finally, for families with children, do you simply list their first names on the inner envelope like so :
Outer:
Mr. and Mrs. James Joyce
123 Caulder Street
Avalon, New Jersey, 12345
Inner:
Mr. and Mrs. Joyce
Bradford and Angela
Thanks for your help!
