Wedding Woes

Oh, DH

So, DH has a really great conference that he was excited to go to and it's even in our home city (last year here).  It's some state wide ag conference.

He goes there and is handed a free cup of coffee that has some mushroom additive in it.  He barely made it home, he was so dizzy.  He said he really didn't feel safe driving.  He called the doctor's office and he said they did give him a firm lecture about doing things like that, but that it's probably dropped his blood pressure and that's what's making him dizzy.  They said it could be "awhile" before he's back to normal.  He's still laying down right now.

No more free coffee!

Re: Oh, DH

  • What?  Someone spiked the coffee and didn't tell him first?
  • Oh no, he knew about it, they told him.  In his words, "I didn't think it'd matter, it's just a mushroom".

Major eyerolling entailed.  At least he called the doctor.  What the heck at mushroom additives to coffee?

Was it a mushroom or a 'shroom?  ;)

I hope he feels better soon.  And why would anyone thing mushrooms + coffee is a good idea? It sounds gross...But I *hate* mushrooms.
  • I want to say sorry I'm laughing that he took it anyway, but I'm not.

  • What sort of "ag people" is he hanging around?!?!?!  Yiesch - never had that happen at any of the Ag. related conferences I attended!

  • Well, it's for "organic" growers.  While the tracks themselves seemed to be interesting (soil treatments, hydroponics, herbs as culinary and medicine products, how to run your farm, how to be a sustainable meat person), there is definitely an element of "woo" there.  Happens anytime you get "organic" involved.
  • 'element of "woo"' is definitely getting worked into a conversation soon.  ;)
  • Here is what the mushroom was.  Apparently the coffee is a BFD:

  • He was just telling me the story about how someone was there for their in-ground watering systems with a special filter.  It has charcoal in it, okay good.  Then they break into how there are glass beads that "vibrate at the same frequency as UV light".  He said he ran off from that one b/c he was going to start causing a scene with questions about the vibrating glass beads <---yes that's what he said.  :D

    Absolutely!!!!
