Happy post! I went shopping!

I have lost 45 lbs. in the last year.  No dieting - cancer.  Well, there has to be SOME perks!
None of my clothes fit.  I stand up but my pants don't.  I have lost two sizes.  I'm still a plus size woman, but if things keep going like this, I won't be for much longer.  I always wanted to lose weight.  Be careful what you wish for.  I lost 4 pounds on that cruise last month.
Fabulous sales out there!  Woo-hoo!  Of course, plain black pants are never on sale, but I found tees, faux suede jackets, statement necklaces.  Had to buy new bras, too.  Gosh, I forgot how much fun this was.
I am sad to give up some of my favorite clothes, but it has been awhile since I bought anything new.  Goodwilll will find someone else who loves them.
Anybody else find some nice bargains?

  • I'm glad you found some good stuff! Cancer is an asshole for forcing you to buy new things, but Im happy you got to turn it into a fun thing!

  • I'm glad you found some new stuff, just sad at the reason you had to!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Woohoo! I like shopping. I'm glad you were able to find some good stuff.

My plan was to go to this local habitat for humanity restore and see if they have any large picnic baskets I could turn into a sewing basket for my dads birthday coming up. Then I was going to hit the craft, hardware and clothing stores, but my body has betrayed me and I think I have food poisoning. I was up a lot last night rushing to the bathroom.

  • You might be able to go to a good tailor and get some of your favorite pieces sized down! Something to look into especially for higher-priced or classic pieces. Sometimes less expensive than buying a whole new item (a lot of my guy friends did this for their suits when they lose weight).

There isn't a lot of options here in Grand Junction, CO.  Herbergers (part of the Bon Ton chain) is our best department store.  Our winter has been extremely mild, with record setting high temperatures.  I haven't needed my winter coat at all.
A faux suede jacket was $14.40!  It is time to make room for the new spring merchandise.  I wish we had a Macy's.  The nearest Macy's is a four hour drive on the other side of the Rocky Mountains.  I do internet shop a lot.
