If anyone needs info on East Side venues, I've toured a bunch if you need any guidance

I've been to:

Cleveland Botanical Gardens
Bertram Inn, Aurora
Cleveland Marriot East, Beachwood
Landerhaven, Mayfield Hts
Folwer's Mill Golf Club, Chesterland
Mooreland Mansion, Kirtland
Chagrin Valley Athletic Club, Chagrin Falls

I know how overwhelming it is weeding through venues and just wanted to offer my input on these venues if anyone needs it.  Just let me know which one(s) you are looking at.

  • Hi tigerlily! I've been scouring venues on the east side. I'm from geauga county, but currently living in florida, BUT moving back to the mid-west. I'm sort of interested in the Mooreland, and have looked into the Bertram inn. I'm also looking at spots down town, but seriously can'make up my mind. What are your thoughts??

  • When I went to mooreland a couple weeks ago, I wasnt really impressed from the start.  They were slower than any other venue in responding to my inquiry.  When we did go there for the tour,  the coordinator didnt really "sell" us like other coordinators did.  she kind of gave us a tour and answered questions.  she finished up with us in about 20 minutes. That being said, I think the rose garden behind the mansion is the most beautiful outdoor ceremony site we toured.  The mansion is many different rooms accommodating a small number of people and would be more fitting for a low key, rustic wedding. Their catering pricing was also unlike any other site we toured, charging a flat fee per hors d'oeuvres bite.

The Bertram was one of the first places we visited and it ended up being in our top two sites.  John was the most helpful coordinator we met in our tours.  he hooked us up with free tickets to the bridal show and gave me lots of bridal magazines.  the bertram is beautiful and accommodating. it is elegant and modern.  they have two ballrooms, a smaller one and a larger one, and a beautiful honeymoon cottage.  they offer plenty of packages and a 10% discount for fridays.  although we did not end up choosing them purely for financial reasons, they were our second choice and i would suggest you tour them if youre looking for a modern wedding with a classic fairy tale feel.

    hope this helps!

  • Thank you so much for the advice! There are SO many places, this is tough! We're definitely trying to stay within a certain budget as well. I've found that the places that offer the food, bar, linens, hors d'oeuvres, and sometimes even cakes or champagne toasts all included are what i'm leaning towards. I'd like everything to be...hm, sort of easy from a planning aspect, and also, i'll know exactly the price per person, so i can plan accordingly. Did you have your wedding already, or is it coming up this year?
  • @ashleybride24  if you are looking for a place that includes everything you may want to check out the Patricican Party Center in Eastlake. It's not as fancy as the Bertram but the prices are good. I had my wedding there & the food was great (anyone who asked where my reception was going to be, when I told them the Patrician, all I got on responses was "their food is great"). But my price included linens, cake, food, bar (they have different levels for food/bar to fit your budget). I used their center pieces & only had to provide the candles. I dropped the candles off along with my favors and escort cards and cake topper & it was all set up for us. They even have a card box built into the cake table which is locked so your cards stay save until the end of the night when you retrieve them. The staff was amazing to work with.

  • We're getting hitched this August!  I ended up choosing a place that included all that stuff....linens, covers, cake, champagne....so much easier.
  • Landerhaven is amazing. went there for a dinner for work. it was amazing. i think we are doing it again this year. if i could afford it i would definitely go there.
