Where to buy my DRESS???

I'm getting married in June I have no idea where to begin looking for my dress. Any suggestions I have a budget and do not want to go over $1000. Help please!!!

Re: Where to buy my DRESS???

  • Like this June?!?!? Honestly unfortunately David's Bridal is going to be your best bet as they might have something off the rack. Most designers take 6-9 months to get your wedding gown to the bridal shop after its ordered (mine took 8 months to come in) which is why they say to start looking at least 10 months out.

You can go to sample sales also since those will be off the rack but that only works if you are sample size.
  • You can call bridal stores in the area and see if any of them have their sample sizes on sale for purchase.  Other than that I believe David's Bridal would be able to be yoru best bet.
  • Try East West in Secaucus

  • I went to Alfred Angelo Signature Store in Cherry Hill, and though its a drive, it only took 3 months for my dress to come in and I ordered it a year and half in advance.

  • @ emily41867 I inboxed ya !
  • It would be in June 2016. I know finding a dress takes time which is why I am researching now.

  • O then you have plenty of time to go anywhere...I thought you meant this June.  If you find places that have trunk shows you get a good deal.  And like I said before Sample Sales are a good thing to look at.

    Good Luck!!!
  • I LOVED where I got my dress- Hollywood Bridal in Kenilworth, NJ.

Arlene's Bridals in Bloomfield, NJ was good, too- they might have more dresses in that budget range for you.

    Good luck!
  • We got my girls dresses at Hollywood Bridal along with my mothers gown.  I am also getting my alterations done there as well.  They are AMAZING and alterations are included in the cost of the dress.
  • you have time then. i went in july for my june wedding. my dress just came in last month so expect it take take a good 5-6 months for it to come if its not off the rack.

i went to bijou bridal and loved it
    i also tried east west.
  • My favorite store that I went to was I Do, I Do in Morristown. I didn't get my dress there, but the girls were wonderful!

  • I also got my dress at Hollywood Bridal. LOVE!!!

I went to Arlene's Bridal.  The women that helped me was nice but, they really didn't have a lot of choices to try on.   I didn't get that warm welcome you get at Hollywood Bridal and some of the people that work there gave off the I cant be bothered attitude.  I wasn't impressed with the bridal store at all.

  • I'm a Hollywood Bridal bride also. First fitting in 1 1/2 weeks and getting excited. Congratulations to all of you.
  • What are the prices like at Alfred Angelo?

Prices at Alfred Angelo start around $500 for the basic, simple line and can max out at like under $2000.  All the dresses I tried on were about $1100.  I purchased when they were having a sale.  The dress was originally $1500 and for the dress and veil I paid $1300.  The good thing is that they tend to have the prices on their website.

  • I had a wonderful experience at Castle Couture in Marlboro. My consultant was so patient and spent a lot of time with me - I wasn't confined to an hour and a half appointment time or anything. I think I was there 2 1/2 hours the first time, and didn't get a dress.
I went somewhere else to try on more dresses, but ended up getting a second appointment at Castle Couture a few weeks later and found my dress that time.
