Wedding Woes

Things I'm loving at the moment.

1. I'm enjoying the new show on ABC, Fresh off the Boat. Too funny. I love the mom and the lead character. Plus, the early 90's rap soundtrack doesn't hurt either.

2. It's warming up, yo and feeling like spring.

3. I've lost 25 lbs and still going strong.

Please feel free to add yours. I know things have bee tough around here.

Re: Things I'm loving at the moment.

  • #3!! GO NOLA!  That's awesome!

I love that DefConn has been coming in to my room some mornings and saying, "Mama! I want to snuggle with you!"  It only lasts about 10 min, but it's some of the best 10 min of my day.  This morning, he snuggled right into my chest and it reminded me of when he was itty bitty.

I'm loving that since I've started working out consistently in the last month, each session is getting easier and easier.  I'm obsessed with seeing my body get stronger. I can't wait for it to warm up so we can get our 'gym' going in the garage after the mini-barn is built.

Even though DH is having a hard time at work, it's making us a stronger team.

And I have been working a fair amount of OT lately and I'm loving my checks.  :) It's all being saved for home improvement.

  • 1. I haven't watched that - I wasn't sure if it was going to be offensive or not.  I need Hmo's stamp of approval before watching.  ;)

    2. DD said that it smelled like summer yesterday.  Um...  it's 29 degrees, sweetie.  We have a long way to go.

    3. WOW!  25 lbs is a lot!  Congratulations!  I bet you're feeling great.  :)

    Mine:
    1. Things have been really busy at work, and then I learned on Monday that we won a big project that directly effects my job - - I'll be even busier and will have to give up some of my tasks to someone else to focus on new project.  It's all exciting and I love it, but yet I am anxious about the changes.

    2. DD is in her 3rd year of ice skating lessons and she is really incredible.  I am so proud of her.  I love watching her skate and interact with her teacher.  She's the youngest in her class by at least a year, and she doesn't let that stop her.

    3. We're planning a GTG with friends for next Friday night and I'm pumped.  I have a lot of house cleaning to do, but nothing motivates me more than having a party.
  • Congrats NOLA!

  • The wedding motivated me and now I want to just be healthy and back feeling like my old self.

I also wanted to run it my HMonkey, but she isn't around these parts. I don't think it's offensive, besides the title.

  • Sounds like everything is coming up NOLA.  :)  *I'm sure that's been used to death, don't care*

    Mine:

    1.  I know I complained about having people with me in "my area" but I'm choosing to take the good from it.  I'm more focused (except for RIGHT NOW) and I stay on task.  I'm learning more, being a better employee and that makes me happy really.

    2.  I've been eating ice cream the last few days.  That is a good thing, I love ice cream.

    3.  With getting the house sold, H's stress level is reduced and that means a happier H, which means a happier house.  It's incredible how much stress silently affects a relationship.
  • #3 - Great job, nola!

Mine is related:  I'm over here changing the scale battery, not believing that I'm actually down a few lbs.  I hadn't weighed myself since before the holidays, scared/positive that I had put on some weight during Nov and Dec due to eating holiday crap and missing the gym for a month straight with the kids being so sick and me being exhausted.  It was great to see and gives me extra motivation to keep getting up at 5am.
  • Awesome everyone.

I've been working out more consistently as well. I know I'm getting sick but I think because I have been taking care of myself more lately that it's not as bad as it could be.
  • Mine is small, but:  several years ago, Method had this air freshener spray called cut grass, and I loved it.  IDK how they did it, but it really did smell like a lawn that had just been mowed.  It was one of those limited time/seasonal scents, so it disappeared, and I've been hanging onto my last can since then and using it sparingly.  Sure, there have been others--Febreze linen and sky, Glade sage and thyme--but nothing has ever compared to cut grass.

I was at Target yesterday and saw a display with a whole bunch of new Method scents.  I picked up "fresh clover," gave it a sniff, and...it was the exact same scent as cut grass!  Not life changing, for sure, but I was so happy.  I pre-warned DH that I will be stockpiling these to get me through the next dry spell, and not to be alarmed if he opens the linen closet and sees a whole shelf of them.
