Wedding Invitations & Paper

Stamp Question...RSVP Return Envelope

Long story short we were kind of rushed with the wedding invitations and A TON of the stamps on the RSVP response envelopes are upside down. Is this a big deal? I’ve read that the post office will still deliver mail this way but I’m worried that it will look tacky and our guests will feel like we did a sloppy job and just slapped them out without really caring. I’m totally fine with correcting all of them (carefully tear off the stamps and re-using them or purchasing new response card envelopes and buying more stamps) because I feel like we should have slowed down and made them look more presentable, but does is it worth it and will people even notice or care? Thanks!!

I think this is a pretty victimless crime, if it is a crime at all. I wouldn't worry about it. The post office will still deliver them. As long as they're still functional, i wouldn't bother with attempting to remedy it.

If you did need to remedy it, I would just start over.

  • Whew, thank you! I'm just going to leave them the way they are :)

Take her word for gospel on etiquette :)

I was hoping she would agree with me!

  • I'm positive I've mailed some mail like this and it was delivered just fine.

And as a guest, I can guarantee you I'd never notice.

  • I honestly don't think anyone will even notice the postage's orientation. They'll make sure it's there and probably never think of it again!.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. Like PP said, victimless crime. As a guest I would be thankful you remembered to put the stamp on at all.

People don't often pay much attention to stamps.  I did custom stamps with our photos and several of our guests didn't even notice unless someone mentioned it. I only sent 20 invites, and I know at least 25% didn't notice the custom stamp.  And I think only 2 or 3 people commented to me on the stamps.  So, most probably won't even notice that the stamp is upside down, and if they do I doubt they would care.
