PhotoBooth Guest Book???

I don't really see the need of having a guest book with a list of everyone who attended the wedding. Since I should know the guest list anyways.... But I have seen all these cute alternative ideas on guest books. The Finger print guest book, the bench signing guest book and other alternatives to the traditional guest book at a wedding. My thing is... We are having a photo booth at our wedding and they are providing a Guest Book for our guest to snap a picture and add it to the album along with well wishes or whatever they desire. Would it be ok to just scratch out the traditional guest book at the Reception entrance, and just put a sign saying Don't forget to visit the photo booth and add to our guest book album?

Re: PhotoBooth Guest Book???

  • Of course! Guest books are not required, so do whatever you want here.

I'm getting a photobooth and really want to do this. I don't see a need for a guest book, I'll never look at it again, but this is adorable way to remember the day and see everyone having fun.

  • Absolutely. Our photo booth people provided this for us as well.
  • Our photo booth also includes this. I LOOOVE photo booths, they've had them at a couple of weddings I've been to and they've been SO much fun. Your guests will love it, and it'll be something really fun to look back on.

  • Great idea!  My only concern would be that everyone will be at the photobooth all night and not on your dance floor

other than that, i'm sure it will come out awesome!
  • yes, this is quite popular and totally acceptable.

We did not do a traditional guest book either.  We had a book that was sorta the "story of us" that guests signed (a variety of pictures and stories from throughout the relationship starting with our first date).  Family and friends really enjoyed looking through it, especially since so many of them lived far away and did not know us as a couple.

  • Love this idea, and if it were in our budget I would totally do it too! It might be a good idea to have your DJ announce it so that everyone knows you really want them to take a picture.

  • We're having a PB and I think this is a great idea as well.  I'm now leaning towards doing it.  IMO a "traditional" guest book is boring, at least the pics would be fun to look at.
  • We're doing the same thing! Photobooth guestbook, not a "traditional" guestbook.
  • Sure! You don't HAVE to have a guestook at all, so you can pretty much do what you want. I think this is a cute idea.

I love this idea. At a friend's wedding last summer, they did something similar - they had a few mini-Polaroid instant cameras (pictures are about 1.5" square), so guests could snap a photo of themselves to put in the guest book. Super low-tech, but everyone loved it. We're considering doing something similar at our wedding!

Mini-instant cameras are under $100 online. Not super cheap, but a good, low-cost alternative if you don't have a photo booth but want to do something similar!

  • I am considering a photo booth.  Instead of using the vendor's guest book, I may do something similar to this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/161566705358564147/ or https://www.pinterest.com/pin/161566705358564142/.  Or we may end up doing a DIY scrapbook.  We can certainly personalize it :-).

Polaroid camera is between 70-100 on Amazon.  For the number of our guests, we'll probably need couple cameras and we have to get films.  It may not be that much cheaper, might as well go with a photo booth.  The one company I am looking at is about $600 for what I need.  This includes props and unlimited prints, so my guests can take 1 home.
