In 2014 I got married... AND...

edited February 2015 in Chit Chat
Published a book!!!!
After the insanity of wedding planning was over, I finally buckled down and finished it.  The eBook was published on December 31, 2014!

If you like YA fantasy/adventure, you should check it out!  There is a giveaway on Goodreads right now (til Feb 21). It's called "Redacted Book Title". It is also available as a paperback!

Girl no. We are not about this self-promotion stuff over here. You have until 5pm EST to realize the error of your ways and get rid of it yourself and not do it again or I'm getting rid of it for you.

Had a lapse in judgment and forgot that these posts are typically made and forgotten once the self-promotion purpose has been served. Post edited.

  • Wow, okay.
I thought the Knot was about big moments in people's lives, and that was one of them for me.  Guess I don't need to be a part of this place anymore!  Thanks for helping me realize the error of my ways, hon.

Talk all you want about your wedding, but this is not the damn place to self-promote your book.

Congratulations on your wedding and all, but that transparent-ass ploy ain't gonna fucking fly here and everybody saw through it.

  • Your publisher should have a sales department, and they take care of your advertising and distribution.
If you'd just said, yay, I sold a book, the reaction would have been different. But linking to sales promotions isn't sharing, it's looking for sales.
  • Yep.  Random troller.  Only this one discussion up.

At first I thought this was @hellosweetie1015 and I was so confused. "She knows better than this!"

OP, if you were actually part of this community you would know that you can't link to stuff like this.
I did too! I was hella confused. I was like wait you got married I thought you just got your dress??

  • Not cool.  I thought this was the real HelloSweetie.  I was kinda shocked by Lolo harping on who she was when I consider HelloSweetie a reg, but now I realize that Lolo is just much more observant than I am.  Good job Lolo

I've just tagged the real deal enough to know those weren't her numbers!

  • Well, you could have just come in to say hey! I haven't been around for a bit, but I just wanted to let you know what I was up to, I wrote a book and got published, YAY!

You could have told us what the book was about, or something, but you chose to give us the title, and where we could get it. In a way, thats not much different than a vendor who wants to sell product. Congrats on getting published, but using the knot to self promote is a general no-no.

Yeah, I'm thinking there is reason she said "I published a book" and not "my book was published!" I think she just self published.

    This was my first thought.

  • There are many writers on these boards, and several of us have been published. We hardly mention it, if ever, and we definitely never link to promotions or sales info. That's not what we're here for, and that's definitely not what the boards are for. Nope. But if you're interested in buying any of my books, click here. JUST KIDDING

  • I sell books for a living.  I've never tried to sell through the Knot.  Give me a break.
