How long do these balloon strings look?

Hi everyone! I am getting married 9/5/15, and plan on having balloons like these (in the photo) spaced out exactly like this at my ceremony. I am ordering these jumbo balloons off Amazon (in the colors blush pink, and white) and will be purchasing the strings at Hobby Lobby. I am wondering what size strings to use? My friend said this looks like about 1 yard per balloon, but to me it looks a little bit longer.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

If I try to compare them to the chairs and picture people standing next to them, it looks at least double the height of an adult. I'd guess like 12-15 feet...?

EDIT: I hope you're okay not using them if it ends up not being perfectly calm on the day of the wedding. That could be a giant PITA if these giant balloons on giant ribbons are blowing around.

  • Thank you for the reply! I think 12-15 inches looks about right too.

You're right, and I'm definitely worried about it. Our date is 9-5-15 and I am scared to death it is going to rain/storm/be windy/you name it.... I've done a little bit of research for weather in my city (I live in Kentucky) and it usually is a calm, sunny day on the 5th of September here (data going back 10 years) so I hope it is an accurate prediction, but you just never know. I'm praying for beautiful weather!

  • I also hope you have an indoor Plan B in case the weather does not cooperate!
  • @lovemyjordan‌, the guess was 12-15 FEET, not inches! If the chairs are about 30 inches high, those balloons are 3-4 times higher.
  • @MobKaz yes, we sure do! Thank goodness. We have an indoor barn-type building that will serve as our reception area that is just around the corner from the area we plan to have the wooden arch and chairs with balloons. I got really lucky and found a great venue (an apple orchard) that had a backup plan.... and enough seats to have them set up inside and outside!

@IrishPirate60 Lol I accidentally typed inches, that was my bad.

  • I must be drunk or hungry.. those look like cake pops on tiny dollhouse chairs.

To answer your question, I would go with 10-15 feet. Also, I would scrap this idea if it's windy.

@southernbelle0915 Oh, lovely, now that I've seen that, I cant UNSEE it lol!!! I will scrap the idea if it's windy... I will purchase the balloons just in case, but won't bother setting it up if it's going to be windy.. and I can always use the balloons for photo ops for the wedding party so the money won't be wasted. Thanks for the advice!
  • I agree with PPs about the length. I love the idea, but wonder if it's going to look "busy" in pictures once all the guests are seated.
