Accessories help?

I can usually figure out if something works well or not with everyday outfits, but I'm lost here. My dress is Martina Liana 455 (will attach pic). My wedding colors are pink and gold, but mainly ivory with touches of color. Our rings are white gold. I have purchased a gold headband, necklace, and earrings. I wasn't planning on wearing a veil. I was originally planning doing silver jewelry since yellow gold disagrees with me (hence the white gold rings, slight allergy with prolonged contact) but my moh told me that it would clash since gold is a wedding color. Will it really matter? And what would you do for accessories?

Re: Accessories help?

  • My wedding colors are blues and gold, and my dress has some gold on it. I'm wearing gold jewelry, but then again, I'm not allergic to gold. My e ring is platinum and my band is white gold, but I don't think it's going to clash. If anything, it will just make the rings stand out! I also think you're fine doing all silver even though one of your colors is gold, especially since you can't do gold jewelry. People mix metallics all the time now and it's totally fine. Just wear what you like and what doesn't make you burst into hives!

I think a necklace, headband, and earrings are plenty on the accessories front, even if you don't do a veil. Less is more! If your necklace is large I would think about doing stud or small earrings, and if you have grand drop earrings, I would do a simpler necklace.

You could always add some gold or pink into your outfit with your shoes or your bouquet!

    Beautiful dress!
  • I don't think people will even notice that your jewelry is silver when your colors are pink and gold! Our colors are eggplant and champagne/gold, my wedding band and engagement ring are white gold and the hair comb I bought is brass! But my dress has a little bit of silver and a little bit of gold so I'm not too worried about it. Your biggest concern should be not having an allergic reaction at your wedding! I don't think you want to be itchy and uncomfortable all day!
  • Eh, I don't think it matters. Last week, I went to formal event and wore silver jewelry because that's what I had. The only earrings I had that I felt really matched and were formal were silver. I also wore silver shoes and a silver necklace and my rings are gold.
  • Silver does not clash with gold because metallics are neutral. I wear mixed metals frequently. Every day, in fact, since my watch is rose tone and my wedding set is white gold.
