personalized M&Ms

If anyone has done these how far in advance do you need to order them?

We ordered them about a month before the wedding but we also purchased them already packed in their decorative tins so we didn't have to assemble them.  If you're planning on using your own packaging then I would give yourself a little more time.

Jagore- was it worth it?  Or did people even pay attention to what was printed on them?  From what I have seen they are pretty expensive

We also ordered a month ahead of time, in bulk bags-it took less than two weeks for them to arrive.  Also, if you choose the 'words and faceses' option rather than just 'words' and then choose messages only, you can create four different messages instead of just two.  I would check every once in a while as you get closer to ordering them-they sometimes have a free shipping special-that saved us $40!

They are pretty expensive, I did a price comparison per ounce. Since our initials are m and m anyway, we are buying them at Party City in our colors and skipping the personalization part. This wedding is costing enough already!

I thought very seriously about doing the personalized M&Ms.. then I saw how much they cost!  Then, I thought about getting SOME personalized, and just buying the rest in our wedding colors and mixing them. That way, people can still see that you took the time to put a personal touch on them, but you save a LOT of money.  Then, I saw that even the special colors are pretty expensive.  Anyway, I ended up buying a lot of Valentines M&Ms and picking out the red ones (our color is pink), and then I ordered some white and pink Jordan almonds.  I'm going to mix and match them in our favor boxes.

Thanks for the info. I know they are pricey but FI REALLY wants them so we're doing it. He hasn't asked for much.

They are outrageously priced, but my sister insisted on having them, so my Mom ordered 1/2 the amount she needed personalized and we mixed them in with regular one color (green) ones.  I'm doing the regular M&Ms (all colors) and putting them in clear plastic Chinese 1/2 pint carry out boxes and then tying a bow on the metal carriers in our wedding colors.

I really don't think people care as long as they're M&Ms.

BTW, my Mom checked and it would have been cheaper to order Godiva truffles (2 per box) than to do all personalized M&Ms.
