The Venetian vs Florentine Gardens

My fiancé and I have been going back and forth between these two venues and can't come to a conclusion!  We are getting married at a church about 25 minutes from both so the location is equal. We have a Saturday in April reserved at the Venetian but need to make a decision soon!  I originally fell in love with the Florentine Gardens and their ballroom, but the Venetian gave us a better price.  Comparing their menus, I also believe the Venetians may be better.  Would love all recommendations from anyone who has been to both or either. Thank you!!

  • if you can go with the higher price, i would go with florentine gardens - which seems to be your first choice. i'm sure their food is great too and you can negotiate any extras you want to add in

i haven't been to the venitian but i've heard the terrible thing about that venue is the lack of grounds

i had the same issue, i fell in love with Nanina's and had looked at a few other places but nothing compared. even though it was much more $$ i went with it because my wedding is a once in a lifetime experience, and you never know what the next day holds :)

  • The Venetian will offer a better menu- they are known throughout Jersey for having on of THE best cocktail hours :)  But- you can't beat Florentine when it comes to that ballroom- it's just so gorgeous.

Whatever you decide, it will be fabulous- good luck!
  • I really love the Venetian the place is amazing and the food was great. My friend had her wedding there and especially the ballroom it was so gorgeous...
  • Venetian! I am getting married at their sister venue, Seasons, and I have heard nothing but AMAZING things regarding the food. The ballroom is also beautiful. They do have a lack of grounds though if that is something important to you. My parents were recently at a wedding at Florentine, and while BEAUTIFUL, they didn't love the food
  • Thank you everyone!! I agree, I wasn't impressed with the grounds at the Venetian, just not my style.  BUT, in early April who knows if anyone will be able to go outside to begin with! Luckily we are getting married at Fordham University, with beautiful grounds so we will be taking all of our pictures there. That fact makes me lean towards the Venetian a little. Especially if you're saying the food at Florentine Gardens wasn't impressive!

I say Florentine hands down!! the service and grounds are phenomenal. I have been to events at both and when I got engaged I looked into both for my wedding. I ended up going with Florentine and had the most perfect wedding on October 3, 2014. Although the Venetian does have a good cocktail hour I felt like it was a wedding factory. There are multiple brides and parties there at once (total deal breaker for me) and the surrounding area left something to be desired. As far as the food goes... FLORENTINE is amazing!!!  my guests are still raving about everything (cocktail hour, dinner, and the additional sweets, smokes and jazz hour)!  The service at Florentine is magnificent - Michael Huxtable is the best and my bridal attendant Lauren made sure everything was seamless. I cannot say enough good things about Florentine! I even got a phone call the next morning saying to stop by on my way home - they refrigerated all the flowers left at the end of the night AND gave us tons of food to take home!! you will not be disappointed with Florentine. Some of my girlfriends that got married at the Venetian cannot say the same.  GOOD LUCK!!
