RSVP...or not?

in Wedding Woes
Ok so we are just a few days over a month from the wedding date and the RSVPs are due this week...what do you do about those that have not RSVP'd??? I am starting to get concerned because the number will change drastically change if the number of people don't RSVP....HELP

    You wait a few days after the RSVP deadline and then call everybody you haven't heard from and ask them if they're coming or not.

    Yep, you, your fi, your parents, future ILs start calling.  I think it's pretty normal to have a huge influx right before the deadline though.

    I started calling about 5 days after the RSVP deadline.

    Mail is hard for some people.  ;)

    I wouldn't get too worried yet--we had a huge number roll in between a couple of days before the deadline and a few days after--I think maybe half of our RSVPs arrived during that window.  Which was a relief, because I had been getting worried, too.

    And yes, if a week or so passes and you still didn't get word, you and your FI have to start making calls.  Occasionally an invite or a response card goes astray in the mail, and as mrs.conn pointed out, other people just aren't good at the whole mail thing.

    This is why we set our RSVP date a month before the wedding because we knew our families are awful with them to begin with so we wanted time for calling without being stressed out.  Yes, give it a few days after the deadline for the mail to process (really - even if it's across town Cliffy can take 5 days to get there! we had one that took 7 days from when it was post marked to arrive) then start calling.

    thanks all for the great advice....we are going to wait another week or so and start making calls...to our surprise...most that were on the have not gotten an rsvp from list..have sent it...but its in mail la la land!

    Depending on where you live, the weather has been mad shitty, so mail is very delayed.
