Dress Stress

I'm having a hard time finding a dress that I love that is in my Budget.  I have looked at Davids Bridal because I'm told that's the place to go if I'm on a budget and I'm just not really in love with any dresses I've seen there that are in my budget.  Other bridal salons I've checked with don't seem to have a lot of dresses under $1,000.  Some people have told me to have my dress made but I'm a little nervous about that because I am so bad at explaining what I like and don't like.  Any suggestions?

Look around for a salon holding a sample sale.  They discount the gowns that people use to try on for special orders and sell them at a STEEP discount.  My best friend got a $1600 gown for $375 out the door, tax and everything.  I wanted to do the same thing but my mom fell in love with a full price gown and was willing to pay for it.
Are you opposed to buying a pre-worn gown?  You can try on something you love and then search for it online from somebody who's already worn it.  The other really great thing about doing it that way is that a lot of times the previous bride will have already paid to have it bustled etc, which can save you hundreds in alterations.
    Good luck!

</div><div>I agree.  Macy's in Somerset has really great trunk shows and sample sales.  I tried on a $5,000 dress that was marked down to $800 and they were willing to go down even more.  You just have to shop around and you'll be able to find something in your budget.

Try Nicole Michaels. Her store is at like 22 and Schonherr.  She has a very large, beautiful selection under $1000.  My budget was $1000 and I ended up getting my dress for $650. She is wonderful to work with!

I went to Group USA at Great Lakes Crossing.  They have sooo many beautiful, reasonably priced gowns and also a clearance section.  They have all the different sizes for each style available on display so you don't have to order a gown.  I walked out with the one I loved.  It's definatly worth checking out. I didn't like my experience at David's Bridal at all. At group usa they help you as much or as little as you wan,t a sales associate isn't assigned to you, but is there if you want help.

I went to both Aleesandra's and Macy's. I ended up getting my dress from Arena Bridal. My budget was also $1000 and I had tons of choices at these places.

I got my dress at Moni's Bridal. Great selection for great prices. However, be warned do not get your alterations done there and their customer service isn't the greatest if you are dealing with the owner.

I got my dress from Gina's in Milford, and my dress was under $1000, as were most of their dresses.  Good luck!

I found dresses in the $600-$800 range that I loved at Bombshell Bridal Boutique...but if you're not a curvy girl that's probably not a good option for you.
