Is it weird to use these TY cards for gifts that arrive before the wedding?

We ordered TY cards that match our invites, but the return address is for "John and Jane NewLastName". Would it be weird to use them for gifts that arrive before the wedding? I just don't know if I should order other invites from Vistaprint, but if I should I want to do it before gifts actually arrive so the TY note isn't delayed.

Well you really shouldn't use anything with your married name on it because you aren't married yet. Instead of ordering thank you notes why not just pick up some nice, simple cards from Hallmark or some where like that? I am not sure of the minimum amount you will need to order from Vistaprint but no sense ordering such specific thank you notes that you may or may not even use.

Agreed. Go to Marshall's or the Dollar Store and pick up some cheap cards that say Thank You on the cover. Use those for any gifts that arrive before the wedding.

Thanks! That's kind of what I thought. You can order a minimum of 10 cards from Vistaprint, and I figured I could use them as thank yous for holiday gifts as well (the card wouldn't say anything about the wedding), but you're right - maybe Hallmark would be better.

Also, maybe I could check with my stationary people to see if I could order just some extra envelopes without a return address printed on them? I have no idea if I could order just a few though (probably not). Ugh, I wish I thought about this before and asked about ordering like 10-15 enevelopes without a return address on them way before.

Thanks! I'll avoid sending the ones on the stationary I have and check out other TY cards instead.

I bought a bunch of generic thank you cards for a good price at Target for all of my thank yous. Not a big deal. They have packs of 20 or 50 next to the birthday cards.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't use anything that has the new name that you don't actually have yet. I already have our nice cards with FI's last name, and we unexpectedly got a wedding gift in January so I ran out to Target and got a 20 pack of cards for less than $10.

Ditto others on generic cards. Or if the only issue is that the envelope has your married name preprinted can you just use the regular TY cards but put it in a different plain envelope. Or did you get the married name on the actual card itself?

I wouldn't order extra anything from Vistaprint since I hate paying for shipping but that's just e.

This. If it's just the envelope, it may be cheaper to just get plain envelopes from the craft or office store than all new cards.

That's a good idea! That actual cards only have our first names on them, so the envelopes are the only issue. The cards are a slightly unusual size, but going to a craft store is a great idea! Thanks!

Make a few labels with the correct name & address & put them over the printed information.
