Good morning WW!

One last cold snap before the temps start climbing.  I'm so excited for next week's forecast.  It's definitely making me want to cancel my OT that I have scheduled.  :)

I picked up papers from DefConn's cubby today and guess who's tracing is getting so much better?  I am so proud of him and his giant smile when I told him was amazing.  He also gave me one hug and kiss before getting on the floor with some kids to play cars.  His old teacher being gone has totally turned around my opinion of his DC.

We went out to dinner last night and it was $7 pitcher night.  DH thought we needed 2 pitchers (of farking craft beer), but someone had to drive.  I'm glad I ordered a salad because it's all I could handle on the side of my beer for dinner.

8lbs weights about killed me yesterday, but it was such a great workout.

NO delays or cancellations today.  Yesterday was very productive so I don't want to do anything today.  3 hrs work, kids play and lunch out, big dinner, homemade peanut butter oatmeal bars, 14 cups chicken stock, house cleaned, and I exercised.

I'm enjoying this PiYo stuff.  It's not long, but I do feel like it's working.  Maybe.  I'm actually having my thyroid checked with my blood work in a couple of weeks.

Maybe his old teacher being gone has turned around His opinion of DC too?  I'm so glad it was an easier drop off.

  • Morning.  Today is my get-shizz-done day.  I've already got my second load in the washer and cleaned the bathroom.

I still need to make my mask for Saturday...
  • Oh!  And we got baseball spikes for all 3 kids yesterday for less than $50.  Score.

DD2 is just too adorable with spikes on.  We brought them home and gave her the box and she looked at us and said "are these my pikes?!?!?"  She was excited.  And her feet are so tiny.  I might have to put another pair of socks on her because they didn't have anything in a 9.

She ran and got her glove and hat and said "Now I'm a baseball player."
  • Random:  I learned last week that 'bae' means 'before anyone else'. I thought kids these days were just getting lazy with calling their SO 'baby'.

Also, being 'on fleek' is tring to replace being 'on point'.

(I learned both these things from the internet, not the kiddo)

The more you know. ::shooting star::

(Also, the kiddo has started talking on the phone a lot.  I'm kinda surprised.  I'd think texting would be the thing.  It's refreshing to see...but also annoying when he shushes me and says, "I'm on the phone!"...You have a room for a reason, dude.  AND he has a GF.  She's really cute  and has the same name as me (the 'other' spelling of it, but she can't have it all.  HA))

OK - that might be the cutest story ever!  :)

I had a killer migraine last night.  I was so sick.  Unfortunately, I ate some awesome mac & cheese for dinner, and now I may never be able to eat it again.  I'm feeling better this morning, thank goodness.  Just really tired and "hungover".  Work is so busy right now or I would have called in sick, or at least took an hour or two off this morning.

I took a buzzfeed quiz last night that tried to predict my age based on how I use the internet.  (It was way off, apparently I am using it all wrong)  I had no idea what "on fleek" was.  I did know "bae".
  • I was unexpectedly out yesterday afternoon.  DC called right before lunch to say that DS was running a low fever and seemed lethargic.  By the time I got him home, he was at 101.4.  Gave him some Tylenol, put him down for a long nap, and he woke up good as new.

While he was napping, I got the wifi up and running on the new thermostat.  Because DH did all the heavy lifting with the wiring and everything, and I figured it was the least I could do.  When he got home I told him I took care of it, and he was sort of bummed--he was actually looking forward to it.  I accidentally stole his thermostat thunder.

  • It snowed some last night, and it was nasty enough when my husband tried to leave for work that he's staying home today. The plows came through about an hour ago for the main roads, but there's some ice under the snow, so there are very few people out.

I'm in bed because I didn't get much sleep last night, and he's thinking that he's gonna move into here with me because I have a clear view of people fucking up getting out of the apartment complex across the road. No one knows how to drive here, I swear.

Still full of fetus. Hoping that maybe fetus will decide to be really inconvenient with timing and will start the whole spawning process today. I wish I had a better idea of what the initiation of labor felt like, but my mom was induced with both of us, so she and my dad have no idea what to tell us to look for. Sigh.

  • I sleepy today.  I stayed up way too late after dealing with some drama that still has me fuming a bit this morning.  I'm nursing the coffee; might be after a 2nd cup before too long.  I just hate passive aggressive people.  I actually said, "I don't know how to tell you no in any more clear fashion than I have done previously.  If you still don't get it or think there's a way to work around this, you are deluding yourself.  Please stop including me [and mine] in your delusion."

I'm tired of snow.  I need spring.  Now.  Spring Now.

Also, we had a friend give us some of his tomato plants.  But there's a really awesome thing to these tomato plants.  He plants them (he has a sun room) every winter solstice (the shortest day of the year) to keep himself from going crazy in the cold weather.  It's so he can see something green and growing.  And then he gives them all away.  I thought that was such a wonderful ritual and I completely get it.

I wish I could help, but with both of my kids, it was nothing, nothing, then boom, contractions.  Have you dropped?  They day I went into labor with DD, I was at Target and the cashier told me I had dropped, and I was like "Really?  Huh."  24 hrs later, she was out.

Both times I went into labor, I had no signs of it until I had a wet mattress.  "Welp, I guess I'm gonna go have a baby."
  • I just went back and looked at my belly pics.  I took them on Fridays and you can see that he dropped from one week to the next.  From the time I noticed that he dropped to being in labor was ~48 hours.
  • For DS, my water broke. For DD, I felt like I was getting morning sickness. I just felt "off", but went about my day. Started having some weak contractions that weren't even timeable and then about 2 hours later it was on. That said, when I got to the hospital I swore that they weren't strong enough and I wouldn't be dilated enough to warrant being admitted. Wrong. DD was born 4 hrs after I got to the hospital.

Migraine hangovers are awful - almost as bad as the headache. I hope you start feeling better soon.
  • I was induced, and they broke my water (with something that looked like a giant knitting needle - I thought DK was going to faint), so I can't provide any useful feedback on the whole "beginning of labor" process.
  • Ohh and re: labor: I woke up uncomfortable about 4am, I was watching TV and realized there was a pattern to the discomfort.   I consulted google and realized that I was having contractions.

I waited another hour or so before waking my H up to let him know that I was pretty sure I was having contractions and might be in labor.  29ish hours later, DefConn arrived.

I had zero contractions or any other signs of labor before then.

3 kids and no clue.  I was contracted with M2 but didn't know it.  Doctor said if your belly feels like your forehead you are contracting.  I spent 3 days poking my head and belly before my C-section.

  • Anyways, I went to the gym this morning. Last night's workout and this morning's workout have helped me get out of my funk.

This afternoon I think we are going to hit up Costco. After yesterday's conversation and DH letting me know that he has to work overtime due to weather, I figured we could do that and have "dinner" in the cafe.

I think I found a location for my sister's bridal shower. It is going to be expensive. I knew this, because it's in Seattle, and finding a place that will accommodate a smaller group with a more private space was pricey. But it's fine. I budgeted for it, and I'm only doing this once.

Side note: my Timehop said had a status update from 5 years ago that I was due in 63 days. As DS was born early, that means as of today he will be 5 in 50 days. I think I need to do a separate brag post about my kids.
  • It's a snow day!!!!

  • It's a snow day!!!!

    YAY!

Also, this winter storm is named "Thor".  We call DefConn baby Thor, so the storm name is making my day.  :)
  • I've had contractions on and off for a couple of weeks now, and beta dropped a couple of weeks ago as well. One week, my uterus was measuring 41 weeks, then on Monday, it was measuring 38 weeks, so there's definitely been dropping. I have excess amniotic fluid, so I have a greater chance of spontaneous rupture of the membranes. My contractions are annoying because they're either extremely uncomfortable or I realize midway through a painless contraction that my abdomen is hard as a rock.

    Fetus is trollin' me.

I don't have much to contribute in the way of the baby-having session.  The whole "bloody show" I know...gross, I remember that though.  That was not fun.

Today:  Well I can say this---I have an accelerated payoff schedule for my CC once again, because I keep getting myself in a spot where I tell H "don't worry, I got this" and then repeatedly get myself in hot water *SIGH*  I don't know WHY I do this, and I don't NEED things, but I tend to get myself into trouble, with a bit of $$ (I'm not talking umpteen thousands or really anything large) and in trouble with H because I tell him " I got this" and then fudge.  So I really need a back pat, a good run and a beer.

Besides that?  Nothing much.  Project that has been busy the better part of 6 months, is slated to start full force again after the 24th so that should be fun.  Getting all my stufffffs lined up waiting for word on funding.  WHEE?
