Centerpieces and Fall/Halloween Infusion

Hey fellow October Brides!

I'm in the process of figuring out my centerpieces, which are going to include some faux pumpkins, and I figured why not start a thread discussing what everyone plans on doing for decor at their October wedding!  Is everyone including Fall accents throughout?  What about Halloween?  My wedding is going to be a classy, Hallowedding of sorts!  I was sure to buy some extra decor during after Fall & Halloween sales last year!

Good luck planning, friends! I'd love to hear about your planning adventures!

I'm going for a classy-ish wedding also and my colors are black and white so I've been painting faux pumpkins and gourds black and white for decorations. I got some really small ones and I'm using those for placeholders.

For our save the dates I painted our date on a couple funkins and had the photographer for our engagement photos incorporate those. It was funny because we had set them aside for some of the shots and people started taking pictures of our pumpkins.

I love pumpkins and that was part of the reason we decided to get married in October so I can't wait to see what other October brides are doing!

That is awesome, @engagedhamstermom !!  I love it!  I'm trying to get the painting of the pumpkins out of the way as gradually as possible!  I just picked up some glitter at the store, and want to do some sort of color-block of black, white, and purple on a couple of them!

You're pumpkins looked adorable!  Great job!

Thank you! I'm trying to get mine done early too. I've started doing a little bit each weekend. I bet black white and purple will look really awesome! Good luck :)

We're doing something like this for our centerpieces, but using taller vases. Our colors are navy, white/cream, blush pink, and gold so we're using white pumpkins instead of orange. I wanted to have the fall decor while using less traditional fall colors.

I have old chemical glasses, I am a Chemist, I am planning on filling them with the water beads and an LED light. no flowers, due to allergies.. for a welcome sign though I have been thinking of painting a pumpkin in the colors of the wedding..

I love those ideas @jamie102415 and @ryanandjoe4 !  I am also thinking about incorporating some sort of vase/glass filled with some light and fall decor!  I'm finding my pumpkins are big enough to be the sole centerpiece on the table.  I think I'll need to jazz it up a bit for it to not look so plain!

Last Oct I bought a bunch of small-ish foam pumpkins on sale (this was the advantage of having a 2 year engagement!) and plan to decorate them with paint and such. We're also having fake leaves scattered on tables.

@peachy13 great minds think alike!  That is exactly what I did, knowing we were going to have a Halloween wedding, I went all out at after-Halloween sales!  Got to save where you can!

Bonus: I live for decorating on the holidays- especially Halloween, so all of the decor purchases will be reused for years to come!

I actually have somewhat of a dilemma with my centerpieces.  I bought a bunch of stuff from a website, not knowing what I'd like...Bought like 30 of one thing and 2 of another...Ended up not liking the one I bought most of so returned that and the thing I liked is currently not for sale SO I wait until they get more (possibly not until August) or find a plan B...Boo!!

@anniecm I LOVE that!  That's exactly what I'm going for with mine- the glitter, color block look!  I have all the supplies...just hoping I can pull it off!

@kschaefer90 I'm sorry that happened!  I like the bottles though!  Cute idea!  I hope they come in a little earlier than August for you!

My mom was asking me about centerpieces this weekend because she and my sister/MOH want to help me start getting stuff together... but I have NO IDEA what I want to do yet! Is that terrible? I'm thinking something with mason jars and wildflowers, but I'm really not sure. Anyone in the same boat?

Never mind!! We just found one that we LOVE and agree on. We'll switch out the yellow clustery flowers for sunflowers and the white rose-looking flowers for daisies.

We're doing an all out horror movie theme costume party wedding on Halloween!  We've infused the theme throughout.  Here are some ways we're incorporating the theme thus far.
    • Invitations are a haunted house background on front and then a photo of us as a zombie bride and groom on the back.  We just got the pictures back and they rock!
    • All guests will be in costume, so will the bridal party and us!  (Freddy Krueger and Anne Boleyn)
    • Our officiant is making us the archway from Beetlejuice to stand in front of for the ceremony.
    • Our place cards are mini tombstones.
    • Our tables are each themed after a different horror movie and all have tablecloths with bloody hand prints.

That's just a small sampling of the many many ideas we're toying with!
