Olowalu & Mauis Angels

Re: Olowalu & Mauis Angels

  • I haven't worked with them.  But I wouldn't want to work with someone who was refusing to work with vendors.  If one or two came up and they said they had problems in the past, then maybe.  But I would be sceptical of someone who was refusing my suggestions and pushing their vendors.  I think your budget of $20k is realistic (assuming that is just the wedding/reception not your travel and accommodation).
Our wedding is at Olowalu and we are using Food For The Soul.  They are doing our catering and coordination.  Tina has been AMAZING.  I gave her our budget and she has helped me plan around that.  She suggests vendors, but I am using some vendors she didn't suggest and she is 100% fine with that.
Personally, that is a lot of money.  If you aren't comfortable, then maybe you need to look elsewhere?  Planning a DW can be stressful enough (at least for me it is because I want as much involvement as possible).  I can't imagine stressing over the coordinator as well.
Good luck.  I'm happy to offer any help or suggestions if you need it.  Our wedding is in 3 weeks so we've pretty much planned everything and now need to show up!

  • We haven't done a tasting.  We haven't been able to go to Maui, so we are running a bit blind.  But, the reviews have been great and Tina has been great to work with.  I'm not sure why they won't work with them, but that just sounds fishy to me.  Good luck!
