Honeymoon to Aruba!!! I am not at all an expert on these weird "relaxing" vacations where you go sit on a beach for several days. FI and I are big snorkelers, and it seems like the best snorkeling is on the ends of the southwest side of the island, whereas the best place to stay is directly in the middle of the southwest side. So if we were to choose to stay at one of the all-inclusive resorts would it be a waste to get an all inclusive package for the entire day? We are big swimmers, like spending 5-6 hours in the water swimmers. WE ONLY COME OUT TO FEED. I'm thinking we should get up and take a cab to the beach we want to be at. I'm not really picky about getting all my meals at the resort, I would actually rather sample the local restaurants but I hear booze is really expensive there so I thought booze included in the hotel package would be awesome!
What I really want is a all inclusive breakfast and booze, but I'm not seeing that option.
Because of FI's job we have free plane tickets to aruba and half the nights free at either the Marriott or Holiday Inn resorts, which is only on palm beach. So that's why I'm being weird and not just staying next to awesome snorkeling beach.
Anyway, I would like some advice and I didn't post this on the honeymoon board because I like the chitchat people better. Also, if you guys have been to aruba, WTF else should we do? We don't know how to relax, we only know adventuring. We aren't huge shoppers or bar people, but we plan on going a little bit.
FI could rent a car, but I'm thinking a cab would be probably cheaper if we decide not to go snorkeling that much.
