I ate that whole damn chicken bake

I wasn't going to, but then I was lurking on Etiquette, and it was gone.  (I think someone there may have stolen it?)

Thoughts
  • I like that Costco has some things I can't get at Sam's, like the Annie's bunny fruit snacks.  DD is going to flip when she sees them.
  • Their Huggies are different--some snug and dry business, instead of Little Movers.  I hope they're okay.
  • I had to use my debit card, because they only take American Express.  But hey, American Express still exists, somehow.  Good for them.  I had to text DH, because I never use my debit card, and didn't want him to think it had been stolen.  ;)
  • They had Carter's cotton pajamas for $9.50!  The kind with a short sleeve top, shorts, and pants.  I got a pile for both kids and this should take us through the spring/summer/early fall, at least until one or both of them outgrow them.  (Thinking about going back for the next size up.  Especially since DD is a 6 and they only go up to 7--I'm going to be sad when she outgrows Carter's pjs.)
  • They have Biscoff!  ::swoon::  I am thinking about sneaking out and liberating some from the trunk.
  • They did not have any Kirkland brand applesauce pouches, but they had a ton of GoGo Squeeze.  The GGS was an excellent price and had all of DS's favorite flavors.  Score.
  • I forgot to get diet Dr. Pepper.  Damn it.
  • The food court only has Pepsi products.  Blech.
  • It was a lot busier than Sam's usually is, and I could see why.  The Sam's here generally has a Village of the Damned feel, with dead-eyed customers and employees kind of zombie-shuffling around.  It's unsettling.  People at Costco seemed normal, even cheerful.
  • In closing, I still can't believe I ate that entire chicken bake.

  • We totally should have given you a "heads up" on the debit card business.  I feel like we failed you.

You've been converted!! :D  There is a vending machine with water in the food court that has $.50 waters (Ice Mountain/Zephyer Hills/whatever Nestle spring water is regional)

    This made me laugh:

  • Snug 'N Dry are fine. They're just the cheaper line of Huggies. We never had problems with them. They're not as soft and flexible as Little Movers.
  • I actually like the Snug and Dry over the Little Movers. Plus, the Snug and Dry have more in a box.

We ended up during our last trip with a metric fuck ton of snacks for the kids after that post. The nice thing is that we dumped them in a basket and they are on the low shelf in the pantry so DS can help himself. I wish I would have bought milk there because it was actually cheaper than the grocery store.

One other thing I forgot is their beauty aisle. They'll have good deals on products (apparently they had Glamglow and Chanel stuff), but I do really like their makeup removing clothes. They are really big and do a great job taking makeup off. Way better than the cheap Target ones I used to get. I also like buying the packs of Dove body wash, and sometimes I'll pick up the Honest Company wash for the kids.

I so want to go back to Costco now.
  • They're phasing out Coke vending, too, which is the only thing I dislike about Costco, since we tend to eat before we buy (we go around dinnertime, so, you know).

And yeah, they'll be taking Visa next year - *all* Visa, not just their Visa, which is nice. I hope the rewards stay the same, though, because I love that 3% on gas - which I only buy there, since it's ten cents cheaper a gallon.

  • They've already ended their relationship with AMEX here in Canada and they accept MasterCard now (VISA as well, I believe). They did start offering their own CapitalOne MasterCard with the membership linked in, but we can use any old one. I never would have gotten an AMEX in the first place if I hadn't needed one for Costco... grrrr, argh.
