What's the weekend plan?

Tonight: shopping/cleaning
Tomorrow: Going down to the southern part of the state for some hiking with our friends and then going to hang out in this quaint little town down there. 
Sunday: Work for me and then nothing? 

Spring break starts a week from today.  I'm excited that I'm only going to have one kid to get up and out the door for 2 weeks.

    Also...Kiddo related:  He got told to knock off the PDA with his GF in the halls. He swears they just hugged and then were holding hands.  This makes me want to laugh (because I remember being in Jr High/HS and holding my BFs hand and thinking it was the bee's knees) and scream (because I'm a parent and he was just 4 yesterday) at the same time. I told DH that it's time to continue the sex conversation/dialogue. ::cue more laugh/screaming::

    Today I get to do some shopping by myself until DD2 comes home from the ILs' house.

    Not sure what we'll do the rest of the weekend.

    RE kids getting older:  I'm so not ready.  I said that phrase about a thousand times yesterday when DH and I went to lunch and saw a bunch of high schoolers at the pizza place.  We knew a couple of them from baseball and they are only freshman.  Just the fact that next year Son will get out early from exams and go to lunch with his friends in their cars (if we approve) freaks me out.  I mean, he can get his learner's permit in just 3 months.  Holy feck.

    Also, I got a detention in 8th grade for giving my boyfriend a peck kiss in the hall and bawled because my dad would find out I kissed someone.

    Almost there.  Poor DH was in a bit of a down cycle yesterday--he's been working on this project, and by the time he got home, the kids were asleep, and he was all existential crisis/"What's the point if I don't even get to spend any time with you and the kids?"  The good news is, apparently he is the Database Whisperer--they have all these separate databases that they're trying to integrate, and they don't always play nicely together.  But somehow DH has a knack for making them work.  Which, job security, but now he's also the go-to guy, and the go-to guy would like to be home for dinner more often.  TGIF.

    When we got home yesterday, the kids and I took a nice, long walk outside.  DS was dying to stretch his legs, so we did the toddler thing where we wandered halfway down the nature trail, turned around and went the other way, stopped and went back the first way, etc.  We were probably out for half an hour, and DS still screamed when we went in.

    This weekend, I'm going to try to get a lot of house stuff done tomorrow so we can go hiking Sunday.  We were supposed to go last weekend, until everyone got sick.  We're trying someplace we've never been, so it should be fun.  DD is going to help me make trail mix, and I can only imagine what will end up in it.  Chocolate is a given.  :)

    Tomorrow I need to get some leggings, then PF's former babysitter is coming for a visit. Tomorrow night we have dinner plans with friends.

    Sunday we're spending the day with my mom and grandma. Which means H will be in a foul mood.

    Tonight I'm sure there will be more fighting about naming 2.0

    Tomorrow is m2's birthday party so I need to spend the day cooking and cleaning. We usually do Sundays and buy the cake but this time it's Saturday and I'm making effing ice cream cone cupcakes.

    We need to figure out something to do Sunday for her actual birthday. We talked bowling but for the family it's something like $35 for one game

    Friend is coming into town tonight b/c we're going to the musical book club after work.  The book this month is Winter's Bone and I just finished it.  That's a helluva hard book to read and beautifully written.  But Ozark mountain meth culture is not really a favorite subject.  On the other hand, such rich material for the musicians.  AND the band that did the music for the movie is coming and, apparently, has written new songs.  So that's cool.

    Tomorrow is Pi Day with the group.  

    I really have to do my taxes.  I just don't seem to care.  Then just same stuffs.

    Tenth Anniversary 250 Love Its 500 Comments Name Dropper
    I went to the Dentist last night and I was very happy NO CAVITIES.  And also, I told them to harass DH to come in because it's been several years.  WHY?  No clue.  Dude has time and insurance..soooo? 

    Today:  I'm done at work around 1pm so I'll head home, say "hi" to H, spend some time with him.  Pack my bags and then head North to see my friends.  SQUEEE. 

    Tomorrow:  I think there is a 5k planned for St. Patrick's Day in friend's town and then we'll just tool around.  I'm hoping hiking in the park, drinks, fun, laughs.  Friend that got #targetlayoff is already on sending out resumes, etc.  I'm so impressed by her, I know she gets pay for around 9 weeks, but wow...she's so determined to get this ball rolling.  No pouting for her.  Love it.  She's coming to the weekend, thank jeebus.

    Sunday:  I'll head home, go buy a grill with H.  I need to decide what I want...but I want both...so...that should be fun.

    Tonight is grocery shopping. DS comes with me and we have with it because he'll go anywhere I want and just is content.

    Tomorrow we need to do some cleaning. The backyard needs some work, and I need to mop floors/vacuum.

    Sunday we are supposed to go to my parent's house as my aunt and uncle are in town. It's supposed to be warm this weekend (almost in the 90's) and I'm wondering if their pool might be warm enough for swimming. It's the middle of March and it's swimsuit season already (this is the only downside of living in AZ).
