Boudoir tips?

Hey Ladies!
I went back and looked at the most recent boudoir thread, but it mostly was just reasons you should, along with some gorgeous pictures of the women who have.

I have a shoot scheduled for tomorrow after work (so excited!). I was hoping for some tips/tricks/or thoughts. Anything you forgot and wish you brought (props or specific clothing pieces)?

Currently I'm upping my water intake and trying to watch salts/carbs so I don't end up feeling or looking really bloated.

I'm having my hair and makeup done, and I'm going to do my nails tonight.

I read an article that suggested wearing loose fitting clothing (and no bra) leading up to your shoot so that there aren't any lines on your skin, but that seems difficult to do at work.

Any advice or opinions are welcomed and appreciated!

Re: Boudoir tips?

  • Don't try to make sexy model faces. Just pretend your SO is on the other side of the camera. You'll look more natural. If that includes a giant smile, go for it!

  • My favorite pics of mine are the ones where I'm smiling. My hilariously bad ones are the ones where I'm trying to have a sex face.

Most of my favorites were smiling ones too. I also liked my profile pictures too. Any "sexy" face I made was silly to me.

The no bra idea is good (I didn't do that) but you are going to be wearing bras or other lingerie during your shot which can cause lines during the shoot. Oh well. Never even noticed any lines.

Panties - cheeky hip huggers photograph much better than thongs, so don't bring all thongs. Make sure you have a pair with a cute back that covers. I love my picture with my cheeky pair.

Bring any items of his? I brought a jersey. Some girls bring a basketball or hat or some other belonging of your SO.

Don't forget jewelry! And clean your ring before you go!

  • Have a drink or three beforehand and have fun!

Ditto with @sugargirl1019 idea where you bring one of his items. My piece of advice is to not take yourself too seriously, have fun with it! I think that the more comfortable I became the better my pictures turned out.
  • Thanks, as always, for the great ladies!! I'm so excited!
