sitting at a bar...

In NOLA. Hi

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Re: sitting at a bar...

  • I'm sitting at work. I have mango iced tea.

    Anniversary
  • I'm at home watching X Files.

  • I tried my chai tea latte from starbucks with the new coconut milk they offer.  I don't think I'm a fan.

  • I have a vodka and tonic, and since it's spring, I poured some lavender syrup in there. Cheers!

  • Hi. I'm in bed watching Girls.
  • Switched places. Dinner time. I'm alone so I'm making you eat with me

    In NOLA. Hi

That's my home turf!  I'm in bed with either the world's worst cold or the flu.  You win.  Hope that throat doesn't turn into anything.

If you're still out, I highly recommend visiting French 75, the bar at Arnaud's (it's close to where you ate dinner).  Chris Hannah is the head bartender, he's a good friend of mine.  The signature cocktail, the French 75 is delicious.  The Erin Rose has the best Irish coffee (hot or frozen) in Nola and the grilled shrimp po-boy served out the back by Killer Po-Boys might be the best sandwich in New Orleans.  The Dauphine Hotel has a cool bar frequented by locals, called May Bailey's.  There's a pool outback you can dangle your feet in while you sip your cocktail.

I have eaten, drank, and danced all over that town. Feel free to PM me if you need any local-approved recommendations whatsoever.  I'm so jealous & wish I was there now!  We just moved to NYC full time from Nola in Feb. :(

I actually lived in NOLA for a short time a few years ago.  I still work for a guy down here and come down twice a year or so.

We use to take our dog in Erin Rose.  That and the Boondock Saint.

  • I spent all night in the kitchen prepping St. Paddy's Day lunch for my office. Yep, I love my coworkers enough to spend 5+ hours making food for them.

  • I LOVE RAW TUNA.

That is all. It's 3:30 and I'm at my desk and I am ravenous and keep looking at that photo.

  • I'm laughing because it was 24 hours ago I posted this. I just walked into the same bar and logged onto the knot and boom @amelisha posts.

Not feeling well. But I am of Irish decent and thought it was my duty to have a drink.

Actually, I think they are contemplating creating a junior position in my office........

Lunch was a rousing success. 8 of us destroyed a 4.5 lb corned beef, 3 lbs of colcannon, 2 lbs of carrots, and an enormous spinach salad with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, and a homemade sweet onion dressing.

  • Hi - I'm watching CSI and getting ready for bed.

SO jealous you're in NOLA. Enjoy the amazing weather, food, and drinks! I get to go (and meet my new niece) in May. :)
