Wedding Expo Bridal & Fashion Show June 7th

Hello brides, grooms, and everyone in between,

Is anyone going to this event? I got an e-vite a couple days ago, but given as that I'll be in Vegas the month before, I don't think I'll be going and attending this.

Has anyone attended before? Is it worth going/is there anything special, or is this just another trade show to collect business cards and mountains of print catalogs?

Re: Wedding Expo Bridal & Fashion Show June 7th

  • Oh dang. That's really close to when I was supposed to go. Now I'm thinking about changing my ticket time. Hmm...
  • To be honest... the only Bridal Show here that I've attended and felt was worth it was Bridal Spectacular. There was another one held that I went to and it was quite disappointing. For OOT brides it might be worth it to be able to meet some vendors, but unless you are a total blank slate and don't know anything yet, I probably wouldn't reschedule a trip around it.. Just my two cents.

  • Thanks for the advice @tcnoble. Would LOVE to plan my trip around the Bridal Show, but it's out in August and my wedding is in October. That would be WAY too late.

The vendors at the June 7th one didn't sound TOO intriguing. It mostly sounds like a dress show, which hopefully I will have my dress by then. Thanks for your advice. I was only considering rescheduling because I am going to be there the week before so it wouldn't be too much extra hassle.

No problem. Sadly, you'd think a city like Vegas would have more impressive bridal shows but that just isn't the case.

As far as the dresses go, it seems like it's only put on with Alfred Angelo dresses... as opposed to a wider selection.

We're kind of a blank slate, but if there's a certain bridal show that's better than another, I'm happy to make an excuse to have another trip to Vegas... ;)

Bridal Spectacular is in August (and again in January, I think) and would be the "one" to come for, if it's something you can swing. I think it's the one that most vendors will for sure be at. The other ones are super small and usually not well attended.

FWIW, we had found, or were able to meet, ALL of our vendors at Bridal Spectacular. It's really a great event and it usually has a Friday night portion and then all day Saturday.

  • I drove in for this bridal show and thought it was great. Got lots of ideas and there were lots of vendors. I had most things booked but it was still fun to go :)

That's great to know. Unfortunately the August show I won't be able to attend because I've got an event that weekend (tickets to see Christopher Titus!). We may be blank slate, but I don't want to blank slate until January. Boo.

You certainly don't have to be a blank slate! There are a lot of vendor reviews on here and we are always happy to help!

Oh, I know, it's already been a huge help! I'm super excited for my scouting trip in May. As the (scouting trip) date gets closer, I'm finally feeling like we're getting traction and going in the direction we want to go!

I hope no one made special plans to go to this. I just got this e-mail from them and now I'm certainly glad I didn't!

"We regret to inform all attendees that this event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

We expect to host a show at a later date this year and will inform all attendees at that time."
