What is the best way to tell what price range stores offer?

I am planning a day with my bridesmaids (a lot of out-of-towners) and mom to look for their dresses. Thanks to the knot I have a HUGE list of places we can go but I'm not sure what will be best for our budgets. I would like to find long dresses for under $175 (MAX). I want to plan the day efficiently and not waste time at stores that only have a small selection of affordable dresses. I would also prefer that they don't all wear the same dress so selection is important! I have already made an appointment at David's Bridal in case I can't find anywhere else to go (I have already viewed their selection online so I'd prefer to use this day for new stores).

I feel like if I call these locations and ask about price range and selection they may not be entirely truthful because they want as much business as possible... Maybe I'm wrong.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

  • Call and ask them for their typical price range. They don't want to waste their time with brides who can't afford their stuff. Don't just ask "do you have dresses under $175?" because they might have one or two but the average is $250-400. So just ask what their typical range is.

  • Call and ask. Like Lolo said, they're not going to waste their time being dishonest about their price ranges.
