39 Days.... It's real now...

39 Days?! I swear I just got engaged yesterday.  I am so excited for the wedding to finally be here, but I'm also a bundle of sadness it feels like.  I live with my parents part of the time, stay at FI's part of the time, and I just got super sad about leaving my parents house forever.  And it's not like I've lived here my whole life or anything, I've went off to college, and lived in different cities for work, but for some reason, it hit me that "my room" isn't going to be "my" room anymore... I got all emotional on my mom, and it made her sad!  Has anyone else felt this way?  Because it's kind of freaking me out!

  • I'm moving 8 hours away from "my" everything right after the wedding, so yes.

I joke that I'm jumping states and changing my name. But for real, that's happening. Scared? Yes. Excited? Yes. It's normal.

  • I think it's normal!  I moved out of my parents house when I was 18 and lived on my own, moved out of state, even owned a couple of my own homes.  When I was 28 I moved back to my hometown and in with my folks.  I met FI about a year and a half later and moved to Colorado to be with him, and I was super sad to leave my mom's home.  I think it's normal anytime you're making a big change in your life to be sad/anxious about leaving your current comfort zone.

It's normal.  We are 28 days out today, and we are moving this summer away from my family.  I'm excited, anxious, nervous, scared....change is sometimes hard but it's a necessary thing for growth.

  • I just feel like such a baby.  I never felt this way when I left for college, when I got my first job out of college and moved to another city, it's just weird to me. I guess it's just major life event change ha!

  • I think it's completely normal. I've lived in dorms, had my own apartment, and currently live a couple hours from home. FI and I get married in May, then move 5 hours away to another state in July. We are both super excited, but it is a major adjustment.

@maeday2 too funny! I am so going to use that.
