Raffle Tickets???!!!

I just received an email from a venue suggesting that we host our Jack & Jill as a way to raise money for our honeymoon. They offered to help us sell raffle tickets and listed a low price per guest which, it claims "leaves plenty of room for profit".

Wow.

    What a terrible idea.

Are you hosting a Jack and Jill for yourselves? Because that is equally rude and tacky.

    Wow.

And this is why brides think this shit is okay. "Well my venue said..." "Well my caterer said..." "Well my wedding coordinator said..."

    JUST SAY NO.

  • Hey, businesses aren't in the business of adhering to etiquette standards.  They're in the business of making a profit.

While the practice sucks, there are enough people who do this that any business would want to capitalize off of a local trend.
  • A venue! Not one you're using, right? If it were me, I'd reply back to the customer service and tell them where they can stick their Jack and Jill idea.
I'd do it eloquently, of course, but yeah. Tacky!
