Bridal Shower at the Grand Concourse?

Ladies,

My mom is hosting my brial shower for me and wants me to choose the location.  I am considering two restaurants in South Side, with one being the Grand Councourse.  Cost will be very similar for both and my first choice is GC but when we looked at the spaces, the front room overlooking the river looks cramped for 40 people.  The other rooms available were either too big or too masculine. 

When we visited there was a shower going on in the river view room and there's not much room to mingle and move around since it's so long and narrow. 

Has anyone had an event in this river view space?  Was it cramped for a similar amount of people?

    I attended a shower in in the riverview room at the GC.  I can't remember exactly how many people were there, I want to say maybe 25-30, and the space worked well. I love the venue and I don't remember feeling cramped at all. It's tough to say with 40 people, though. What is the GC staff's take on the space?

    I attended a shower this summer in that room and it was nice.  I think there was about the same amount of people and it was perfect.  The food was good, service was good and it was beautiful in there.  The only thing that was a little akward was that there was no music playing at all.  Several people commented on this, I'm not sure if this is normal or something was off that day.  Overall though I think its a great place for a shower and am considering it myself as well.
