Jewelry for my dress - thoughts?

I came across a bride wearing my dress on a blog, and saw that she was wearing this drop back necklace with it.

I hadn't planned on wearing a necklace, but now think I really like how this looks with the dress... it's different though, and wanted to get some other opinions! Is it too much? I don't think I'll be wearing a veil at all... hadn't decided on hair yet, but if I did something like this, would do an up do for sure.

  • I like it. I am not sure I could pull this type of thing off. Mostly bc I am not a fan of my back so I probably would not have such a low backed dress. But that is a totally different point. :)

I think for this type of style these necklaces look really neat. I think it adds some visual intrest without being 'too much'. I say go for it.
  • I love how that looks! I think that type of necklace with that dress is really pretty.

  • Depends on the front of your dress and other accessories.  A necklace--even with the most detail in the back--can be too much if you have a tiara/headpiece, big earrings, bracelet, blingy dress, etc.

If the front of your dress is simple and low enough, then it could certainly work!  Just keep earrings simple and don't add lots of other stuff like headpieces and bracelets.

@atlastmrsg - sorry- should have been more clear... the dress in the pictures is my dress :) I don't have any other accessories picked out yet but would probably do simple earrings and a sash, and that's it!

    Thanks ladies!

Ahh--so it's the exact one to a T.  I like it.  I think it works.  With a simple earring.  You may or may not need the sash.  With the ruffle-y back, I think you may not.  But I always gravitate to simple.
  • @atlastmrsg Yep! It came with just a matching ivory 1" ribbon sash, I may just do that! Thanks :)

TBH, I absolutely love the look from the back, but not so much from the front. The necklace just appears to be too short in front.

    Frontal appearance > backside appearance.

  • @ElcaB it does almost look like a choker in the front! That one is like $200 from bhldn which I am not going to spend that much, but will definitely keep that in mind as I look at others!

@chibiyui I love those first two!! Thanks!
