Confession time: I haven't done any running since my 10k in February. Not a mile. Because I started saying, "Eh, I've worked hard, I'll give myself a week before I get back into it." Then a week turned into two, then into three, and now it's been over a month since I ran. I can feel myself turning into a lump. Okay, maybe I'm not, but I sure don't feel as healthy or awesome about myself.
This morning I thought, "I'll start running next week for sure." Then some part of my brain said, "Next week? Why do you want to wait until next week? You should start now!" So before I left for work, I laid out my workout clothes and found the armband for my phone so that I have no excuse. When I get home from work, I'm running.
So throughout the work day I'll be psyching myself up for it, so hopefully by the time I get home instead of thinking, "I have to run," I'll be thinking, "I get to run. I get to listen to my podcasts for an hour and feel super awesome about myself and build good habits and hopefully lose a few pounds of fat."
What's making you pump your fist in the air today, friends?
