NYE Fitness Challenge Checkin April 6

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter!

Following a really offtrack weekend where I ate terribly and didn't bother to workout even once, it's time to get moving today.  Sadly, on Saturday I started a workout tape stood there and watched the perky annoying little freaks smile profusely while they bounced around doing the workout, laughed and said yeah this isn't happening, and promptly turned it off.  Yay me! Way to commit!

All in all, not a good start so I am counting today as the official start.  Holidays don't count right??

What about everyone else?  Good workouts?  Ate healthy?  Any good confessions to make me feel better about the abject horror that was my weekend?

QOTD: What is your favorite way to workout?

  • hey hey!

I actually - for I think the first time ever - exercised both days this weekend! On Saturday I went for a short run, and on Sunday FI and I played tennis.

Eating-wise I did great on Saturday. On Sunday, I made  pasta with broccoli and Gorgonzola sauce with crescent rolls, and also made mint chocolate chip ice cream and homemade whipped cream. Not even going to feel guilty about it thought because everything was SO GOOD.

  • I had a terrible weekend...I ate ALL the sugar and drank ALL the wine.  My mother made me a white cake with Nutella buttercream frosting for my confirmation on Saturday...of course I ate about 4 pieces.

Today so far has been much better.  I had rice cakes and kefir for breakfast, and then I took a kickboxing class and started over with C25k.  I have healthy meals and snacks packed for the rest of the day, so I'm hoping nobody brings cookies to the office and ruins it for me!

@Hummingbird`125 - That pasta sounds AMAZING.
  • I did not work out either day but working in the restaurant on my feet all day counts, right? I log in my app as housework. LOL

Anyway, BF and I had plans on Saturday for a lovely dinner at an expensive restaurant so I went online to scope out healthier options so I ddn't completely blow my diet.  I decided on the  shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, petite filet mignon with broccoli and share the chocolate cake for desert. I was so excited to induldge and still be good on calories.....

CONFESSION: I had a salad with fatty dressing, bacon and cheese to start, a martini FLIGHT, yes a flight, the beef wellington special that came with scalloped potatoes and a glass of red with my steak. For dessert, I ordered my OWN trio, because clearly one type of dessert was not enough for me. It consisted of key lime pie, peanut butter crem pie and an ice cream sandwich..... didn't eat everything on my many plates but still....like really? Then I had a beer when we got home....Seriously...

I laugh at you with the workout video because I have done the same exact thing! Got dressed and everything, turned it on, rolled my eyes, turned it off and sat on the couch and turned on the cable. :)

Great job @Hummingbird125 ! And your splurge sounds amazing right now!

But, I didn't gain all my weight back so, yea #winning. Yesterday I woke up sick so I had a little at lunch and broth for dinner.

I still don't feel 100% today but I HAVE to do something in the gym today. Maybe just a walk on the treadmill.....

  • I ate like crap this weekend. I really need to get back with eating right on track starting today.

I didn't go to the gym but I stayed pretty active this weekend. BF and I went on lots of walks and played some Frisbee in the park - which since we both suck involved a lot of running.

Tonight I'm going to the gym for a 35-40 minute run. Hopefully, I'll still feel motivated enough after driving home from work. I need to upgrade my membership so I can go to the gym right next door to the branch but for some reason I have to pay $80 upfront which I don't understand. Maybe if I ask at the gym they can waive that? I don't understand why I have to pay $80 in addition to increasing the amount I pay each month.

  • I ate TERRIBLY this weekend. It was really bad. However, starting today I'm back on track with healthy eating and exercise. I got up early and did PiYo before work, and I'm going to track everything I eat today on MFP.

  • I didn't eat TOO badly this weekend but I definitely could have made better choices. I attempted to go to WW Saturday morning but got there 15 minutes after they closed because I was stuck at the DMV and they weren't open yesterday because of the holiday. I only worked out on Friday but I cleaned my house on Saturday so I consider that something!

I'm not doing great with food again today and I know that it's because I haven't weighed in in 2 weeks. I don't even know if that makes any sense. I seriously don't have an excuse. I have oatmeal and a Healthy Choice but instead I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel for breakfast and my CW is getting me guac and chips for lunch. SIGH.

I'm going to do 30DS as soon as I get home from work.

  • I didn't eat as well as I could have, but I did work out Saturday and Sunday.  I did PiYo Sweat on Saturday, but it wasn't as intense as I'd like because I was feeling off from running a fever.  I did PiYo Lower Body yesterday.  Tonight I plan on doing PiYo Core and going for a short run (and by short, I mean 0.5 mile warm up, 1 mile run, 0.5 mile cool-down).
  • This weekend I ate all the mini eggs and drank all the wine. That about sums it up.

I had an egg and a muffin (homemade, not huge and awful) for breakfast and have a healthy lunch, but nothing planned for dinner; FI and I are meeting our photographer at 5:30 and I don't know how long we'll be with them. Dinner might be take out, in which case I'll try to get a wrap or something not terrible.

Hopefully I will be home in time to do 30 day shred, otherwise I'll do it tomorrow morning (starting all over again...I don't know why I'm so bad about exercising lately, needs to change)

  • Oh, I wanted to share my lunch and forgot in my earlier post!  Because I knew that we would have Easter and other stuff going on this weekend, I bought a rotisserie chicken and shredded it so we'd have some meat ready for our lunches today.

I ended up packing a salad (artisan greens, shredded carrots, cuke, tomatoes) with rotisserie chicken and homemade dressing (just 1 TBSP EVOO + 1 TBPS Pomegranate Balsamic vinegar), some green beans leftover from Easter, and a few unsweetened banana chips.  I am high-fiving myself, because I struggle with my diet more than my exercise.
  • I didn't eat terribly this weekend, but I definitely had about 1,000,000 peanut butter M&Ms at DH's family easter celebration. Whooopsies.

I ran for the first time in over a month on Saturday. I did a little more than 2.5 miles and I was SO SORE yesterday. I ran again this morning (a little more than 2 miles) and I had PT today, so it's been a good day.

Right now I'm eating a salad with mixed greens + spinach, hard boiled egg, grilled chicken cucumbers and red peppers. And I'm washing it down with a Coke. It's a LOT better than the pizza I wanted to get, though, so I'm counting this as a win.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • Friday I cleaned one of the spare bedrooms that H is turning into his office.  So I moved ALL the furniture around.  I did not eat healthy - I had a pasta and bean dish for dinner and ate way too much of it, perogies and fried sides for lunch and then a breakfast burrito for breakfast.

Saturday I had a bowl of cereal, one of those ThinkThin bars that somebody mentioned the other day and we went to Panera for dinner (soup, roll and pecan braid).  I also had made a little baby Italian Easter Bread to try and see how it turned out (it turned out pretty good) and then had like 3 or 4 of my little cookies I made.

Sunday we had Easter dinner at MILs.  I had cereal for breakfast and then MIL fed us ham, potatoes, sweet potatoes, fried apples, corn bread stuff, lots of other things - then she made a rice pudding and chocolate cake for dessert - and we had my cookies and bread.  Too much food - just way too much.

I had bought a 5-day plan from Nutrisystem from Walmart, so I'm trying that today.  So far so good, the oatmeal was pretty good and the tuna salad was pretty tasty too (I don't usually like Tuna fish, maybe I was just so hungry it tasted good).  I'm probably not going to follow it 100% by the book, but I'm going to try to be a lot closer.  Like today I didn't have bread to put the Tuna on, so I added some beans to the lettuce salad I was allowed and put the tuna in the salad (I thought it was a decent compromise).

  • Morning guys! I was thinking that instead of a new thread each day, what are your thoughts on just doing a weekly one? That way we're not spamming the board everyday? Just a thought!

So, I continued my shitty eating all day yesterday and when I got home to workout, which I had JUST enough time for before having to leave for the movies, I couldn't connect to YouTube. So, I literally gave up on the day at that point. But that was yesterday and today is a new day.......

I got up at 4:20am and got my workout in! I did 30 Day Shred again and I'm going to stick with that for the full month or at least until I go on vacation. I'm hoping that at that point, I'll be in some sort of a routine and maybe then H and I will think about joining the community center. I don't want to pay for a membership and then not use it which I have a history of.

I packed my breakfast, lunch, and snacks and have plenty of points leftover for a hotdog and fries at the last Devils game of the season tonight. BACK ON TRACK.

  • I'm down for that!

Yesterday was an A+ for me!!!  I stuck to what I planned to eat (which included 100 cals of chocolate!), ran a mile plus warm-up and cool-down (30 min) and did PiYo Core (30 min).  I cooked a healthy dinner with lots of colorful veggies (chicken thighs over purple sweet potatoes, yukon potatoes, carrots, sweet onion, and green beans).  I am super pumped.  Oh, and I got into my peak HR zone yesterday during my run, according to my FitBit!

Today I've got healthy meals planned out plus a small treat (either a little bit of kettle corn popcorn or a couple Dove dark chocolates).  Work outs are supposed to be PiYo Upper Body (only 20 min) and I'll probably go for a walk or hoe the garden.  Hoeing the garden is a lot of work, I totally count that as a work out.
  • I am fighting off a cold right now so I did not work out yesterday. I was probably feeling OK enough to work out but I didn't want to push it and make myself more sick. I stayed within my calories for the day though and ate pretty good (we had a roasted chicken from the grocery store for dinner but everything else was healthy).

I did go to the grocery store with BF last night and bought a ton of fruit, I mean a TON! BF was sort of looking at me like "Are we done with the fruit yet?" I just kept thinking, if you are hungry, have some fruit first so I bought strawberries, bananas, oranges and avocados.

Today I packed a good lunch (salad with strawberries and avocado) but dinner is up in the air. We are having a fundraiser at the restaurant tonight for my cousin and I want to go but I don't want to get everyone sick either. I am playing that one by ear. If I am home, I will make chicken breasts, yes chicken again (we are out of fish right now) with a salad and mushroom and onion side.

BF found a measuring tape he bought years ago for something else and is going to help me measure my inches. Hopefully I can do this tomorrow so I can start tracking more of my progress. My mom stopped me dead in the door on Easter and said "My god, how much have you lost? You look so thin!" I was naturally flattered but I have only lost 7 pounds, which is good but hasn't felt good enough so seeing her genuine reaction makes me feel a lot better about my progress.
