Wedding Week!!! And I definitely should have taken off...

The countdown is on. Of course, since it has been smooth sailing for the past 11 months, NOW is when everything is starting to get shaky. Just over the past 2 weeks, I have dealt with:

-thinking my minister was no longer legal to perform ceremonies (now I know she is)

-getting a huge cold sore

-thinking my nexplanon birth control implant broke inside my arm, and then going to the doctor to have it removed only to find out that it was not broken, it is still intact

-seeing that there was an 80% chance of rain on Saturday. Our wedding is outdoors. The chance was down to 20% this morning and I'm scared to look again in case it goes back up

-Multiple people (wedding guests) calling me only to ask if we have a backup plan in case it rains. Of course we do, I'm not going to make you sit out in the rain.

And now I'm working today and tomorrow when I really need to be at my house getting my life in order because I get married in 5 days. How is everyone else's Monday going?

    I feel you!  And I have two full weeks left before we fly out for our wedding!  I didn't realize how many last minute things were going to pop up, not to mention having to pack everything for a wedding in a suitcase has given me major anxiety already, to the point that I want to start packing now just so that I can know that everything is going to fit.

    I thought it was rude too. Not to be an SS but like I don't have enough going on without people calling me concerned about the weather. YOU DON'T THINK I'VE SEEN THE WEATHER?!

     

    When FI's aunt called asking about it, he did just tell her to bring an umbrella :) I love him.

    Yikes, I hope everything else goes smoothly for you. Either way, it's going to be a wonderful day, I'm sure! 

    I recommend a glass of wine tonight. But don't forget to hydrate! ;)

    I don't think it's rude or unreasonable for people to ask what your plan B is. Especially if the weather was saying 80% chance of rain. 

    We got that question, too. Especially from people who watch the weather closely. Just tell them what Plan B is and how you'll disseminate the message if you decide to use it. 

    Try to breathe this week. Have a glass or four of wine and veg out on a favorite show.

    Here's what's going to happen: you're going to get ready, you're going to marry the love of your life, then you're going to party with all your friends/family, then it's all going to be over in a matter of hours. Enjoy it!

    Breathe. It's going to be great!

    I mentioned on our wedding website that we'll have a tent if it rains. I'm sure people are still going to be asking me, "BUT WHAT IF IT RAINS???"

    Yep, I put on our website in a couple different places that our ceremony will only be outdoors if the weather is nice, and I still get asked if there is a contingency plan. 

    Also, the wedding is in Michigan and my mom's friend asked if the time on the invitation was for the Michigan (aka local) time zone, or if it was for her (aka not local) time zone. WTF? Why would I put some other time zone on the invitation??? Then she suggested that I "clarify" to all the guests which time zone they should go by. Um no. If I got married in Italy it would be on Italy time, not on fucking Nebraska time. I mean come on! 

    I think no matter what, people will come up with bizarre, random things to ask.

    I would politely answer of course, but I would annoyed that people thought I would actually make them sit in the rain vs having an alternative plan. Like come on. I'm not that crazy.

    Although I say that and I know some friends that had to watch at wedding the pouring down rain because the bride didn't want to move it inside because of her "vision". I was like umm yeah I would have just left. I'm not getting soaking wet because you've always wanted to get married outside and you will damn it.

    I thought it was rude because I usually assume people are good hosts, which generally means not making people sit out in the rain. I'd be a little offended if someone thought I was selfish enough to make people sit in the rain or clueless enough to not have a back up plan in case it does.

    ours is outdoors too and I know I will be watching the radar like a hawk in the week(s) leading up.  Here's to the 20% and not 80% for you!
