The small, forgotten things

What are some of the small things people often forget? I'm 5 months out and worried I'm forgetting something important. I have cake, hairdresser, florist (probably), looking at makeup artists, decorations pretty much figured out. What am I forgetting?
If there is already a thread on this, point me to it please!

Re: The small, forgotten things

  • This depends so much on your wedding! Is it in a church? If so, you may have to pick readings, songs, musicians (I know I did). Is it outside? You may need a sound system. Dresses? Photographer? Day of Coordinator (if you want one)?

It sounds like you need to make a list of how you want your day to look and work from there.

  • I'm also five months out. Here's what 'm working on:

    • Ordering invitations
    • Finalizing ceremony details
    • Getting quotes for rentals

  • Wait, are you worried about small things or important things?

Any decent checklist should keep you on point with the large vendors and decisions like song lists, readings, etc. As far as the small things, I just kept lots of lists and gathered things into boxes as they were ready. Anything for the tables (candle holders, candles, table numbers, kids' packs) into one box. Box full of favors set next to that box when they were ready. Things for elsewhere in the reception (escort cards, guest book and pens, card box, cake toppers) into another box. Things to go to the suite (video cameras, hair pieces, shoes, jewelry) into a suitcase.

  • I used the Knot's app checklist. It really helped.
