in Wedding Woes
It's gross outside.

Poor DD2.  She got sick a couple times after coughing fits in the middle of the night so I was on the couch all night with her.  The good news is that she hasn't run a fever since before she went to bed so hopefully I can keep her cough under control and she will feel more comfortable than yesterday.

I'm actually not too dead yet so hopefully I can get my usual Thursday stuff done before I feel like crashing.

    I spent last night at my folks. I shared a bed with max. My moms pillows suck I woke up at 4 and couldn't find max. He was on the floor under my parents nightstand. MOTY.

    We drove the hour to preschool and made it on time even with a poop stop. I forgot her school bag. Oops. Might need to have a beer at lunch again

    I'm going to try and take tomorrow off.  We're going camping this weekend and, IDK, I thought food and packing was going to be done by the elves under my bed or something.  But, I really need to get that stuff done.  

    Other than that, I got nothing.  My emotions are slowly returning to normal.  It'll be nice to get out and be unplugged, hear some running water, take some pretty pictures, and sit by a campfire.

    I'm just glad to have made it to today.  This week has been craaazy.  Or maybe normal for some, but for me---I was definitely busy.  10 hour work day yesterday (unheard of for me, FWP). 

    If I work just a normal week, I'll be done at noon tomorrow.  Friend texted me yesterday saying she had the night free tomorrow night, so pending some good sleep tonight---get together tomorrooooowww!

    And also in "would you shut up already"-news: my appointment was moved to next Tuesday.  D DAY.

    @ftrMrsO - the removal is relatively easy once they find the strings - basically like yanking out a tampon. also, i know they say that it will take most women about 4-6mo for their body to adjust/regulate before getting KU - just know it can happen a lot faster (~6 weeks for us, which was pretty unexpected, and not the best timing given we were getting ready to sell our house and move across the country.)

    you can - to the extent that if you had unprotected sex a night or 2 before getting it removed, you could conceive from that.  My doctors said it was pretty typical for your body to take that time to regulate - similar to stopping the pill. 

    i think we were surprised that it happened so fast overall since she was our first. that's all the more reason I had the IUD back in 6 weeks to the day after giving birth. I sure as all hell wasn't taking any chances. :-P

    Heffa---that is what my doctor told me as well.  In fact she recommended you wait one full cycle in order to reduce the changes of miscarrying.  But I'm fairly certain my body is making enough lining...ugh.  TMI, I know.

    It's actually working out really well because I waited until my regular yearly...and I have no idea if my strings are readily accessible as I've never felt for them and I remember having to do the vag-wand after it was placed.

    I can't figure out how to turn my three hole punch into a two hole punch and apparently there are no manuals online that explain how to do this. Why are you screwing with my Swingline?

    I went to the gym this morning. I left early. I forgot my water, my towel, and I kept feeling dizzy. And I don't really feel bad about it because I'm really grumpy this week.

    DH got his vasectomy scheduled and it's the Wednesday before Mother's Day. I know this is a big deal for him but I'm peeved because I wanted to go to brunch and drink champagne and be off the hook for the day, but now I'll be taking care of three children.

    There should be a little knob on the back you can either adjust the two knobs together or take the middle knob out.

    Both my dad and my brother had vasectomies and required very little recovery time.  They both worked in an office, so they didn't have to worry about staying away from heavy lifting.  I think my brother had his on a Friday and went to work on Monday.

    He may not be able to pick up your DD, but he shouldn't be in bed being waited on by Sunday.

    (I am not a doctor and have learned all of my vasectomy info from my family and teh googles during my own research)

    I sent this to DK yesterday - even with this guy's complication, he was still getting around pretty well within a day or so. Just have him strap on an ice pack, take some painkillers, and he should be set to watch you drink your brunch.

    Yeah, you would think that. But during the consultation, DH passed out (he is not good with medical procedures) so they are booking him at an outpatient surgical center and he'll be getting anesthesia. The urologist said that if DH passes out while he's doing it or has any other sort of issue, he's at risk for botching it or not being able to complete it at all. I want my husband to keep his junk, I really like it. So there will be added recovery time due to the anesthesia, etc. in addition to the vasectomy. I have to take  a day off work and people are like "why?" I seriously considered just saying fuck it and making an appointment to have my tubes tied or something but he's committed.

    Even with anesthesia, he should be up and about on Sunday.  The "unofficial" dismissal instructions here are a bag of frozen peas, a 6 pack and the remote for 48 hours.

    Guys, this man took a picture of the back of his throat and texted it to me telling me that it obviously showed he had strep. I told him to go to the doctor, he did, and they said it was mildly inflamed from seasonal allergies. What I'm trying to say is, he's going to milk this for all it's worth and of course it will be the WORST THING EVER. He has like no pain tolerance at all.

    He told me last night he's going to buy a new TV for our bedroom (we don't have one in there). He said he wants to be able to not move from one spot for like a week except to use the bathroom.

    @pmeg819 - have you reminded him that you birthed two children? And after birthing them you were the one who was up with them every time they woke from day one?

    Perhaps I'm just in a really pissy mood but I kind of want to punch Mr. Pmeg right now.

    I have told him several times that I was in labor for hours with both children without drugs. And after they were born, I never took anything stronger than ibuprofen. This is why he is doing the vasectomy.

    DH really, truly is amazing in so many other ways. He is an awesome dad, funny, always incredibly supportive of me and my issues. He is an utter failure thought when it comes to health/his body. Most of the time, a little tough love from me and an Advil will get him through his trials. But for him, this is like the first time he has ever had to do something that involves his body in a hospital with more than one prescription medication.
