I don't know how we got so lucky, but my FI won the Williams Sonoma Dream Sweepstakes!! Now I get to pick a new dress :) YAY!!!!

    They're all gorgeous, and I'm usually a mermaid girl, but I LOVE that sheath style dress. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of strapless and I love a pretty back!

    I like the sheath. But if its not you in the photos, I can't really say. Those are 3 totally different fits, so it depends on your body type.

    It is really hard to pick a dress from a model photo.  I wish we could see them on you.  I think strapless ballgowns have had their day.  I love the sheath!

    Yeah I know it is hard for me too!  There isn't a shop in my area that carries Monique Lhuillier though :(  It is such a hard choice!   I really like the details on the mermaid dress but the poof of the ballgown!  I am 5'4 and pretty average build.  Thank you so much for your help!

    The sheath is soooo pretty! Do you have pictures of yourself in similar dress silhouettes? 

    Height can factor into a dress slightly, but dresses can be altered, and heels can be worn to give you a few inches (if you want to appear taller). You describe yourself as average build, but would you say your body is more hour glass, pear, apple, inverted triangle, or rectangular shaped? Like lolo said, these dresses are different fits and would kind of depend on your body type. 

    Ultimately its up to you. As long as you are comfortable, and you feel like its THE dress, I say go for it!

    My measurements are 35-27-37...I found pics from when I went dress shopping before of similar styles.

    Personally I like a ballgown or at least a fuller skirt better on your figure.   However, of the dresses to choose from I prefer the mermaid.

    Based on the pictures you posted of yourself and based off of the choices you are given to pick from without trying on first, I would go with the ballgown.  It is the safest choice in regards to how if will fit your body.  I would hate to see you choose the sheath because you think it looks gorgeous on a 5'10" model with a "perfect" body only to hate it on you.  Picking dresses from pictures posed by models is just never a good idea.

    What do the rules say in regards to picking a dress and then hating it?  Also make sure you get professionally measured before picking a size.

    That sheath dress is absolutely GORGEOUS but based on your body type, and not being able to try the dress on beforehand, I would go with either the ballgown or the mermaid. Regardless, all of them are just so beautiful. Congrats on winning that contest!
