Wedding Woes

Friday! We made it!

What's on tap for the weekend?

Today and tomorrow are going to be beautiful, so we're going to be outside as much as possible.

Sunday is going to be shitty, so maybe some housework will be accomplished.

I kind of want to go to Target on Sunday to look at all the Lily Pulitzer stuff.

Re: Friday! We made it!

  • Baseball game tonight and tomorrow.  Girls have practice Sunday.

I've got to get to Target and Sams today.  Other than that, nothing else planned.
  • OMG, I hate birds.  They run into our windows all the time.  One just scared the crap out of me. Assholes.

We've had birds attacking our windows--I think they see their reflection and think it's a rival.  The kids and I put those gel window stickies all over the back windows to hopefully clue the birds in, and so far we haven't had any more trouble.  But who knows what goes on when we're not there.

Weekend:  DD has a 9:00 game this week, and my mother is coming.  Earlier this week I was thinking "Ugh, lunch, no ideas, no motivation," and she later texted me to ask if she could bring homemade pizza and salad.  Yes and yes!

It's supposed to rain all day Sunday here, too, and I'm also using that as our excuse to do housework.  The kids need to clean up that playroom, and the whole house needs some decluttering.  I've been meaning to do some spring cleaning, too, so maybe I'll get to that.  The past few weekends have been super nice, and we've all been blowing off housework to get out and have fun.  So I think the rain will be a good thing.  (Especially if I manage to weed and feed on Saturday.)

  • Cleaning (I hope), phone calls and emails sent to various realtors and various resources that someone has provided for me to get information for our move.
  • I forgot that taking my Zyrtec at night makes me drag.  I've been getting up at the last minute all week.  It finally caught up with me today.  10 minutes late to work, forgot my heels so I'm walking around in a dress and sneakers, barely have hair and makeup taken care of, and am still slightly snoozing over my coffee.

Tomorrow DH has a work day, so I'll be home alone. I think I'll be doing the household chores and then some reading.  I've been making myself unplug from social media and it's having good results.  I love reading and want to get back to it.

Sunday we are either going hiking or floating.  It depends on how much rain we get on Saturday.  I'll also be prepping for the first backpacking trip for the upcoming weekend.
  • Taking DD to her first metal concert tonight. This should be interesting. Plus it's OOT. I'm hoping DH realizes how stupid this is and holds off on taking her to a concert again for a few more years. I have to choose my battles. And, yes, we have ear plugs for her.

This time next Friday, we will be in Orlando, ready to start our Disney World adventure! This weekend will involve a lot of getting ready for our trip. :)

At work today. No email and no Internet. So basically holding the floor down.

Weekend will be filled with garage construction. Also with my barely tolerating my FIL who will no doubt piss H off and throw a nicely exaggerated temper tantrum(He already tried to lecture me on FB on someone else's post). Yay?

At least I can still drink.
  • DH works tonight and I'll be home doing laundry and house cleaning.  Tomorrow I want to get out, run some errands and then spend some time outdoors.  Sunday is supposed to rain here too so it'll be church and then I'm going to a 50th anniversary showing of The Sound Of Music with a friend.  Sunday night will be spent gearing up for the week with preparing lunches, etc.

Anniversary trip!  I'm hoping the rain Sunday doesn't ruin our zipline trip.  Max ruined the last one.

And in absolute pettiness.....My MIL drives me BANANAS that everything comes from DH.  The engineering mind, the athletics, the blonde hair, etc.  The only thing I've given my children is a widow's peak (which is a bad thing apparently). Since M2 started gymnastics all I hear is about MIL doing it.  On facebook, at gMIL's party, on the phone, and texts.

I mentioned this to my mom.  Today I posted pics of M2 just so my mom could comment on me doing gymnastics.

I think this is something I would start saying things about.  "It's so great that you did gymnastics!  I did too, so M2 is probably going to be an Olympic superstar with that many gymnastic genes in her!"  Things like that.  Let's be honest, she probably has no freaking clue, so I'd start talking myself up in front of her, just so that I felt better.

Sometimes, you have to one-up the upper.

Oh and I got my first blatant snub about where I live.  After gymnastics most people hit the park.  I was chatting with a mom about where we lived.  As soon as I said it she curled  a lip and did "By Meijer?"  I said yes and she walked away.  It wasn't to chase a kid either.  She actively avoided me and pushed her daughter to play with any other kid on the playground.

    Ok then.

Shoot, I didn't know you live by Meijer.  Where's that Ignore button?

Is your Meijer next to a crack den or something?  Somehow, I don't see that.

    I love it Nola!

I should have started a randoms thread.  Last night I "worked" with my boss.  We chatted, read his email, talked about college days (we went to the same school).  Because the time was scheduled I got paid double my normal rate.  Hot damn.

  • My stylist is leaving my salon.  :(

Also, people have been crazy all afternoon.  I have this person going on for 37+ min on this chat.  I just want to get up and take my break.
  • My windows are open and there is a lovely breeze.  So there's that.
